It’s finally time for another room reveal! Last week, I celebrated our first full year in our new home by giving an updated tour on all of the completed spaces. Today, I finally have another room to add to the completed list. Welcome to Little Man’s Rustic Toddler Boys Room.
Rustic Toddler Boys Room
Since we’ve never found out the gender of our babies, my son was still in the ‘gender neutral nursery‘ at our old home. When we moved I wanted to give him a real boy’s room, one that he can grow into over the years. It’s funny, I originally wanted to do a navy and white room for him but as I sorted through all our decor in the garage I began pulling pieces together and this room took shape. I didn’t picture it like this at all when I started, but now it’s one of my favorite rooms in the house!
A lot of the pieces in this space are from the old nursery mixed with pieces from our previous family room. I love reusing pieces and using what I have and then filling it it with new finds. This room is truly a mix of old and new and it makes my heart go pitter patter.
We spend a lot of time in this little reading corner. Five years ago we decided to splurge on the rocking chair for our first baby, and I’m so glad we did because it’s now gone through 2 kids (now onto the 3rd) and it’s still in great shape and so comfy! I’ve slept many nights in this chair and I still love it. It is white, so we have had to get it professionally cleaned a few times but overall I’ve been really impressed with how it’s kept over the years. Definitely worth the investment! It’s a classic look that will never go out of style.
I purchased the ABC stand from TJMaxx several years ago and I haven’t been able to locate it online for you, sorry! It’s a really fun piece and I love how it still fits the overall style of the room but also adds a little ‘kid’ factor to the decor. The curtains I made using fabric from Hobby Lobby (not available online) and the crate is also from Hobby Lobby.
The pipe shelves I put in over the dresser have turned out to be one of the most popular projects I’ve ever posted! I think they add so much to the space and they were relatively easy to put together.
I was so excited when I found the perfect little hamper for Little Man’s room. It doesn’t hold much, but when you have tiny clothes it works perfect. (FYI- It looks like the manufacturer changed the product in the link, I can’t find this exact one anymore but the one in the link is similar)
I’ve styled them with special pieces including a vintage gas can that used to be my grandpa’s and a metal ‘M’ that I picked up on my World’s Longest Yardsale with GMC.
Let’s take a look at the other side of the room! One thing that has been a challenge about all of the rooms in our home is that they all have 3 doors: main door, closet door and a bathroom door. While I love that they all have a bathroom, it does leave pretty limited wall space and not many options for room arrangements.
Oh be still my heart. I just love how this turned out so much. You can view a tutorial for the wood striped wall here, I’m so glad I took the plunge and put this up. It was really easy and made such an impact.
And if you missed the story about the toy chest, you can read that special one here.
What is a toddler bed without a few furry friends?!
The railroad sign was a really lucky find! I was exploring a new lumbar yard near our house looking for a slab for our dining table, and I found this sign tucked back in the corner. I asked the owner if I could buy it from him and he said yes! Only cost my $20 :)
And yes, I do realize that it is not reading the correct way. I blame it on the pregnancy brain. Maybe one day I’ll get the energy to take it a part and reconfigure it to hang the right way.
If you love this pillow as much as I do, you can view tons of fun vintage pillows from So Vintage Chic!
And there you have it! I think this is one of the few rooms I’ve reveal that I am 100% happy with. I generally always feel like tweaking something, but this time I don’t plan on changing a thing! Except…. I’m due with baby #3 in just a few weeks and I’ll be taking the rocking chair, dresser and crib and moving them into the new nursery. Which means I’ll be getting new furniture for this room soon. So stay tuned for reveal #2 in a few month :)

I found your link at the Tatertots and Jello Link Party, and I’m so glad I did. We just announced our second boy on the way and I needed some inspiration for his room! I love how you repurposed things you had to make it feel entirely new. It’s beautiful and looks like a beautiful place to make memories.
