It’s been almost 3 years since I did our dining room makeover when we moved in. I honestly haven’t changed much in here since then and I got an itch. I love my neutrals but I’ve also been incorporating a lot more bold patterns into my spaces and more unique pieces that make a statement. Since I still love everything in our dining room I thought the best way to change things up would be custom slip-covers in a fun pattern. My goal is to truly add unique characteristics to each and every space in this home. I think this gave it such a fresh spin.
Organic Modern Dining Room

Three years in and I love our raw wood dining table. It has worn a bit over the years and has some oil stains, but since it is so raw and organic to begin with, I like the wear it shows. People ask all the time about light upholstery for the dining chairs and they still look perfect. No major stains and they have been really easy to spot clean.
I originally did natural linen captains chairs as accents. I really wanted a very sleek modern organic look in here. I still love them, but I think the new striped ones are a great change in here.

Dining Room Accent Captains Chairs

I knew I wanted to stick with my neutral tones but I wanted to add a fun pattern or print to bring this space some new life. I picked out this black and white Jarales fabric from Calico (partner). I love that it has a more organic look to it without being too farmhouse. It’s classic but also modern and I love the character it brings to this room. It feels so custom now.
We had basic linen slipcovers on these before, but this is what the basic chair frame looked like. Great chair, just needed a fresh look. And I can always swap them back to the plain linen ones if I want at any time!

Statement Centerpiece Arrangement

I had the same centerpiece on the table since I originally styled it. Which is shocking. It was time! I wanted something big and bold and found all these pieces at HomeGoods. I can’t link any of the exact ones, so I found a bunch of similar pieces and linked them for you above!

Brick Fireplace Dining Room

Looking back, I definitely wish I would have done these custom window seats in a dark charcoal gray or black. But they were an investment so that’s not changing anytime soon. With the new patterned captains chairs, the pillows I did have in here conflicted, it was just too much. So I swapped them out for these black linen pillow covers and these super sweet lumbar pillows from Target!
