Anytime I add greenery to a space it instantly adds warmth and a polished look to the whole aesthetic. In both our Washington backyard and now our Dallas home, I remember both spaces feeling a little bare and sterile until I added clusters of planters together and more potted trees. Today, I’m going to show you a variety of ways I’ve used planters in my own home to fill space and add a touch of greenery that gives a breath of fresh air.
Modern Spring Planters
Large Outdoor Planters
Planters and greenery (whether it is faux or real) are an amazing way to welcome guests and loved ones into your home — creating a strong first impression when they step foot at your door. Oddly enough, planters and artificial trees have the power to transform any space you put them in. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, giving you plenty of room for creativity to style your home any way you wish! Lately, I have been placing a variety tall planters in clusters beside any of our outdoor furniture to effortlessly brighten up the space.

If you have an outdoor patio or pool, these planter boxes are an amazing way to fill any empty spaces you may have. The best part about using faux greenery is that it requires little to no maintenance which is ideal if you have a busy schedule. These artificial boxwood trees are my absolute fav! I’ve had them out here for over a year and they still look perfect.
Large Artificial Cedar Trees
Adding large statement trees are one of THE BEST fillers for a large space. I have multiple sets of these Large Concrete Planters filled with the 72″ artificial cedar trees. I do add some fillers in the bottom to give them a little extra height. But this combo is so good I did it twice! You can also see them in our outdoor fireplace area!

I like to place my outdoor planters near my poolside furniture to compliment the colors of the area and bring more vibrant tones within the space. Having greenery around the pool brings an inviting ambiance of spring and nature, enhancing the visual appeal of your outdoor area. My go-to is to create a cluster of three plants in varying heights, shapes and materials. Here I paired these black demi planters with these small round planters (similar to these) and then tall skinny concrete planters in the back.
Tabletop Planters
If you’re looking for smaller home decor items, to place on a table or a vignette, having a small planters is a perfect way to bring more life into your space! They are perfect for adding a touch of greenery to your furniture. If you are ever having an outdoor gathering, these planters are essential to add to your table to compliment the beauty of nature and spring. I filled it with my favorite reindeer moss that I get on Amazon, it’s A MUST. It’s so soft and realistic.
