Did I really kick this project off over 7 months ago?!? I kicked off my tween son’s bold sports bedroom back in February. I had the bulk of the room done in May, but I enjoyed a fun filled summer with the kids and didn’t get a chance to work on this too much! And I’m OK with that! I offically have about 75% of the room done and I wanted to do a check-in before I dive into the final DIY project in this space! Which happens to be one of the biggest!
Tween Boys Bedroom

Large Nike Shoe Art | Industrial Ceiling Fan Light | Antique Gold Industrial Scones | Black Modern Nightstands | Cream Storage Bed | NFL Sheets | Gray Reversible Bedding | Faux Fur Lumbar Pillow | Football Field Pillow | Cognac Upholstered Bench| Grey Area Rug | Cowhide Rug
If you remember, my son’s only request was to have a purple bedroom! A design challenge I had to think about for awhile but I think in the end it turned out pretty darn good! After a purple paint fiasco, I changed the color after the first coat and I’m so glad I did. It’s now a nice rich dark purple that still feels classic.

I paired it with this upholstered storage bed that also has a trundle bed and slide out storage on the other side. It gives us an extra bed when guests are staying with us and also hidden storage for all the toys!

I also added this oversized sneaker artwork for a big statement piece in the room, with these industrial gold wall sconces that frame it.
Gaming and Desk Set Up

Upholstered Desk Chair | LEGO Light Up Display Shelves | Gaming Wall Shelf Unit| Black Writing Desk | Acrylic Light Up Display Shelves | Oculus Charger Stand | Wireless Desk Lamp |
On this side of the room we created a gaming and desk set-up for right around $500! It’s a place to display all his LEGO creations, organize gaming devices and keep his keepsakes organized.

I found all of these pieces on Amazon and put them together to create a full set-up that works well together. Each piece is very reasonable and perfect for a kids room. I did this simple Black Writing Desk with two of these Light Up Display Shelves on either side (only $75 each!) and polished it off with Gaming Wall Shelf Unit in-between. This gives you tons of display shelves, places for gaming units and devices and more.

The cool thing about these acrylic light up shelves is that you can sync them with music and turn your room into a party. They are very fun but also very difficult to get finger prints off of them :)
This Oculus Charger Stand keeps everything organized on display. I love it.
Now it’s time to work on the secret door to the hidden room!
BEFORE BEDROOM

And if you need a reminder of where we started, this was the before bedroom!
