Our first bathroom renovation in this house is officially checked off the list! I didn’t have a bathroom reno on my 2024 Bingo card this year, but sometimes life surprises you and here we are. I finished up my daughter’s vintage boho bedroom at the very end of last year and it’s still one of my very favorite rooms in our home. She has an attached bathroom that was original to our house (about 20 years old) and desperately needed a full remodel. I wanted her bathroom to be cohesive with her bedroom: light, bright, airy with feminine touches and a pop of modern. This teenage girls bathroom design is truly perfect for her and such a fun project to tackle.
Teenage Girls Bathroom Design
Neutral Girls Bathroom Decor
Being the only girl in the family, it was such a special project to be able to design this bathroom for her. A space that suits her personality and sets her a part from the boys side of the house. A very girlie bathroom design that is both transitional but also fresh at the same time.
I chose this White Vanity & Sink Combo, I like how the traditional elements went with her more classic bedroom design. It comes with the marble countertop and I added on the Champagne Bronze Sink Faucet and swapped out the cabinet pulls for these.
With the white walls and white vanity I wanted to add more contrast to the bathroom. I found this Ribbon Maple Tile Backsplash and fell in love. It looks like reeded maple wood and adds so much texture too.
Before Bathroom
Here is what the bathroom looked like before so you can get the full affect of the photos. It was dark, dated and everything needed to go!
Antique Subway Shower Tile
I DID end up keeping the tub and the toilet and it helped with the budget to reuse them. I went with this Antique Glazed Subway Tile from The Home Depot. I LOVED the elongated subway tile and the neutral color variations. It really pulls together the different neutral tones in the bathroom and also matches the square tile in our arched niche downstairs.
I addd the same Marble Mosaic Floral Tile that’s on the floor to the shower niche for a little pop of pattern. Also, let’s talk about the niche. This is one thing I regret in the bathroom. I do wish I would have done two niches in here. But I’ll save this learning experience for next time.
This shower niche is the perfect size to fit these Clear Shampoo Bottles . It’s all in the details.
Brushed Gold Sliding Shower Door
I upgraded from a basic shower curtain to this Brushed Bronze Glass Shower Door . It was a challenge to find gold tones that went together in this space. I didn’t want any yellow gold, I wanted everything to be more of a muted antique gold. This ended up being the best match to the other fixtures.
I love the rolling barn style doors. The style of it is gorgeous.
It was a pretty easy install. Two of us did it in about 2 hours and it was relatively easy if you can DIY.
Decorating Above A Toilet
Decorating above a toilet seat can often be pretty tricky. The large cabinet that was previously above the toilet was too large, bulky and my daughter and I hit our heads on it constantly. It needed to go but I also wanted to use the space wisely. I ended up going with these Gold Open Shelving. Really simple and perfect size to add little jars to organize toiletries. It also comes with a very thin and simple towel bar.
This set of little bathroom organizers is perfect for Q-Tips, cotton balls and facial pads. The little clock and floral vases are both from Target but sold out quickly.
White Bathroom Vanity Combo
I chose this White Vanity & Sink Combo, it’s the 36″ option and it comes with the marble countertop and pre-drilled holes for the faucet. I added on the Champagne Bronze Sink Faucet and swapped out the cabinet pulls for these.
I love how it has soft closing drawer and doors. Also has a lot of under sink storage. These colors are so peaceful together. I feel like that might be an odd way to describe it, but it really just feels so tranquil in here.
One of the little details that I love so much about this makeover are the new antique brass door knobs. These are an investment and I have been slowly swapping them out throughout the house with each room renovation.
Vintage Inspired Ceiling Wallpaper
While I love the soft neutral tones in the bathroom, I really wanted to add something unexpected and a teeny tiny pop of color. After A LOT of searching, I found this Vintage Inspired Wallpaper and added it to the ceiling. It has a very Anthro vibe to it and gives the bathroom more of a fun and youthful look to it.
I couldn’t be happier with how this entire bathroom turned out. It is a completely different space than what was here before. It now feels like a fresh classic bathroom for my teenage daughter. And she definitely has the nicest bathroom in the house now. Go figure :)
