Let’s play a game, how many times will I write “Modern Coastal” this season? It seems to be the trend over here. I want to show you how to incorporate both traditional coastal into your homes or beach houses and still keep it fresh and modern. A few weeks ago I shared a design plan for a Modern Nautical Bedroom for a family member’s beach cabin and now I want to show you the second bedroom design that is still ‘beach’ but also has a different design. So let’s see this Modern Costal Bedroom Design !
Modern Coastal Bedroom Design
For this room, I wanted to keep it bright and airy with a really fresh coastal feel. I’ll show a few different options for the main bed area so you can get an idea of how different a room can look by simply changing out artwork and a few other accessories.
But let’s talk about the first one. When it comes to neutrals, it’s all about adding texture and mixing finishes to keep it interesting. From the metal lamps, to the rattan chandelier and the texture all the way down to the rug. This look also incorporates more industrial elements with the nautical lamps and the vintage inspired boat prints. I love the whole vibe in here.
Second Bedroom Option
I wanted to give a second option for the bed area and show how much the look can change by simply switching out the style of the prints above the bed and the style of the lamps. This is a little bit more of a contemporary coastal look. I do love those water prints, they are from Etsy and really reasonable (get links below). This look is a little more serene.
If you are looking for a dresser/vignette space here is a look that goes along with either bedroom design. Scroll down to get links to all the products shown in these mock-ups!
