You hear every mom say it, but my goodness the first year just flies by! I honestly can’t get over how much one little human can grow and change in 12 short months. On August 31st we celebrated our Little Man turning the big 1 with a Modern Camping Themed Birthday Party!
Today, I’m going to be sharing a few of the details and chatting about this special occasion and what it was like throwing the first party in our new home.
This was an extra special party for us. We had only been in our home for 2 weeks and it was the first time we had EVER thrown a big party at OUR home. Our old home barely fit 10 people in the downstairs and it was so much fun to be able to host over 50 of our close friends and family in the comfort of our own home.
I had so much fun putting together this Modern Camping Themed Party for Little Man. And guess what, I loved it so much that it turned out to be the inspiration for his new bedroom :) (more to come)
Obviously a camping party wouldn’t be complete without some s’mores. So I ordered this Cast Iron Hibachi Set and created my own little s’more station. It was a total hit.
This party was planned a little last minute and all my favorite bakeries were booked, so I took a stab at making the cake myself (not my speciality). I kept it simple and topped it off with some vintage animals that my grandma passed down to my daughter. It got the job done :)
I recycled tin cans and turned them into inexpensive yet festive serving dishes….
…and I left brown paper bags out for people to pack a snack for the ride home.
If you recognize the barn door, it actually came from our hold Master Bedroom!
We had a blast and I’m pretty sure this was my favorite party theme to date! But how can you go wrong with black and white mixed with wood?! :)
And in case you forgot, here is the Shabby Chic 1s Birthday Party we threw for Miss E.
