Football season is coming to a close… and you know what that means? The BIG game is fast approaching! With that being said, you’re on one of two sides- the one hosting the watch party or the one attending the watch party. As much as I love to be the one attending, there’s something about hosting a get-together with all of your family, friends, and neighbors that brings on a new level of joy! While I was in the party-hosting mood, I put together a list of the essential items you need to make your upcoming football watch party the party of the season!
Backyard Football Watch Party
Many people think that decor is an unnecessary detail to have when hosting a football watch party, but really- the decor creates the ambiance! It is scientifically proven (in my world) that your guests are more likely to get into the game, hoot, holler, and jump for touchdowns if there’s plenty of themed decor! However, if you’re like me and aren’t too keen on either team in the big game, choose neutral football decor that can be used all year long!
Backyard Football Watch Party Details
When preparing to host your football watch party, the biggest (and arguably the most important factor if you ask your attendees) is food, food, food, and of course drinks! To ensure your party goes off without a hitch, preparing individual food plates with “grab and go” foods will make grazing the buffet table as easy as can be! These football-themed single-serve trays, plates, and napkins are the perfect items to support any team!
As much as we love to have the kiddos in attendance… they aren’t always the cleanest party guests to have over. Although… sometimes the adults are worse than the kids! One thing that is a must-have, no questions asked at any party I host- plastic cups with lids and straws. It’s the minor details that save you SO much time cleaning up at the end of the night!
Your party decor doesn’t need to be limited to only themed plates, napkins, and cups because there are SO many options! Balloons are always a fan favorite to decorate, and they make great backgrounds for photos or can be used as photo props! If you’re having younger kiddos attend your event, there is nothing that makes them more excited than playing with confetti spread out on the table!
I cannot wait for the big game to be here (even if a big reason is for the food), and these essential backyard football watch party must-haves are the perfect pieces to put the finishing touches on your gathering!
