Our Master Bedroom Design Board

Hello friends! It’s been a little slow on the blog the past few weeks because A) March is a crazy birthday month for us and we’ve been gone a lot  and B) I’ve been busy working on several huge room makeover projects behind the scenes. I have three rooms that are getting finished and all three are in different stages of the process, my son’s room is 95% done and almost ready to hit the blog, the home office will be completely finished in the next few months and then there is our master bedroom….

I feel like I have been in the planning stages of our master bedroom since we moved in 2.5 years ago but I haven’t made any true progress. But now it’s time! It’s time to create a cozy, luxurious and dream master bedroom. Today, I wanted to give you a peek into my master bedroom design board and what I have planned.

So here is the current state of our bedroom. I have done little projects here and there and I have changed my mind about the direction of our bedroom about 5 million times. So in some ways, while it’s all primarily black and white , it feels a little disjointed because all the projects have been done were months to a year apart and I didn’t have a big picture I was working towards. And that is a big problem when it comes to decorating a space.

Which is exactly why I don’t have curtains right now…

When it comes to decorating our master bedroom, for reals this time, I am going BIG. Not just throwing together a few little projects here and there or making it simple and beautiful. This is the home that we just might spend forever in and I want us to have a dreamy master bedroom retreat. So I’m ready to go all-in. No more settling. I’ve been waiting 2.5 years (I mean, really my whole life) for this and I’m ready to dive in!

Ready to see my plans?

Here is my big vision board for this space. Of course I’m sticking with neutrals combined with rustic wood pieces. But I want our bedroom to be luxurious and cozy.
The biggest change will be the floors. I’m just not a fan of carpet. That’s a personal thing. So the carpet is ready to be ripped out as soon as I find the perfect hardwoods. I want gray distressed hardwoods and I’m having the hardest time finding the perfect tone. I’m at the stage where I need the floors to be laid before any of the other big project happen, and I’m chomping at the bit to get this started!
Next big change, the lighting and the bed frame! While there is nothing wrong with our current headboard, I just fell in love with the look of a tall canopy bed paired with a beautiful hanging chandelier. I saw this over and over again at the Restoration Hardware The Gallery and this is a look I want to have in our room.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing my first big project in this space and soon I’ll finally give you a glimpse into the opposite side of the room and what we have in store. Because it’s big!!!

My goal with every room is to make it feel warm, i My goal with every room is to make it feel warm, inviting and extra cozy. It’s often the final finishing touches that truly transform the vibe of a room. I picked up some final styling pieces from @wayfair , I am obsessed with both side tables. They are both statement pieces. And the personal photos, candle, heart trays and leather pillows are why bring the warmth and personal touches into this space.

I finally found the perfect family and pet-friendl I finally found the perfect family and pet-friendly sofa that passes the designer test! This is the 5-Seat Modular Corner Sectional from @7thavenueco in the color Oatmeal Beige. We ordered it in the extra-deep seat option for ultimate coziness. The material is water-repellent, stain-resistant and you can also throw all covers in the wash!

We cannot say enough great things about this sofa, we all love it and just sink into it. It definitely passes the family test. Plus, it truly is gorgeous. It looks very chic.

Comment SOFA and I’ll send you the link to this exact one!
