We have this great space in between the boys’ rooms that is perfect for a homework station, art space or even a work area for me… if they choose not to use this. Because I will actually take full advantage of it! It’s tucked off to the corner, you have to walk through it to get to my oldest son’s room and it has the best view of the courtyard. I am really excited to tackle this space because I think it’s going to be a pretty quick makeover, and one of those projects where just a few changes will make a huge impact. Now, let’s dive into the Homework Station Design Plans so you can see what I’m talking about!
Before Space

Here is what the space looked like when we moved in! I love the windows and the trim, the builtins are already set up for a double desk space and pendant lights were added for perfect accent lights. It’s really all about cosmetic updates for this space. Changing out the older granite countertop for something more current, I’m actually keeping the color of the cabinets but changing the wall color, adding a mural and swapping out the light fixtures.
Homework Station Design Plans

Here are my plans for this space! My goal is to keep it the same style of the house, emphasizing the European architecture, more traditional elements but also adding in a modern and unique touch to it.
I want this space to feel cozy, studious but also match our personal style and aesthetic.
I thought about painting the cabinets a deeper neutral, but then I fell in love with this vintage wall mural and the color matched absolutely perfectly and it would save me a lot of time and effort. So I decided to keep it.
