Top 10 Tuesday: My Design Inspiration

Thanks For Sharing!

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend an exclusive event at Benjamin Moore where I learned about their new paint line, Color Stories. All I have to say is UH-mazing. This paint is going to rock the design world and more importantly the DIY world! It’s not the 240 colors that make it incredible, it’s the way the paint is made that makes it so unique.

Here are some of the highlights:

– Would you believe that not one of the 240 colors is made with black or gray? Even the entire line of grays! Which make all 240 colors impossible to duplicate.

– The paint in the Color Stories line are available exclusively in Aura ® paint. SUPER high quality paint.

– No primer is needed when using Aura paint. You can easily paint a light color over a dark one using only two coats.

– You can use any sheen (flat, satin, eggshell, glossy) in ANY room of the house. Throw those old rules out the door! Flat paint will now be making its way into bathrooms with no worries.

The team at Benjamin Moore used beautiful photos of nature and architecture as inspiration for the Color Stories. The photos are breath taking, full of bold colors and full of design inspiration. I walked out of the event filled with new ideas for my entire house.

Today, I’m sharing with you my Top 10 Inspiration Photos from the Benjamin Moore Color Stories Series. These paint colors are full of texture and rich colors that would look beautiful in any space. If you’ve ever wondered what my design style is, this is it. The images I have picked out for your today tell my color story.

Colors inspired by this image: Smoke & Mirrors fromShades of Gray Volume

I was really impressed with all of the Color Stories, but I was really drawn to the Shades of Gray. Surprise. I think every room in my house has some shade of gray in it. One thing I love about using gray is that it can be paired with both warm or cool tones and looks great with pops of color or kept neutral.

Colors inspired by this image: Espresso Bean and Old Soul from Shades of Gray Volume

This image reminds me of when I studied abroad in France. I love the textures of the buildings, the mix of the iron fixtures and the rustic tones.

Colors inspired by this image: Espresso Bark from the Earthen Hues Volume

Colors inspired by this image: Cattail form Naturally Neutral Volume

First of all, forget color inspiration, can I just move right into this space? The bright whites against the rustic table and vintage chairs. Love.

Colors inspired by this image:  Stoneware from the Naturally Neutral Volume

I was drawn to this image because it really speaks to my design style. I love working with neutral, using natural textures including canvas, incorporating industrial accents and I always bringing a little nature into my space.

Colors inspired by this image: Fallen Leaf from Earthen Hues Volume

By itself, this inspiration photos is a little dark for me. But put it in an all white room and I’m sold. The natural colors of the glass, eclectic vibe and vintage appearance are all working for me.

Colors inspired by this image: Greenwich Gate from Naturally Neutral Volume

The clean lines of this image, the rich neutral colors and the beautiful architecture are gorgeous. This image make me want to create a calming space.

Colors inspired by this image: Cafe au lait from Naturally Neutral Volume

I can’t this image is 100% my design style, but I chose it because I loved the distressed wood able against the metal. That had me at HELLO.

Colors inspired by this image: Liliana from Elemental Greens

When working with greens I like to save it for an accent color versus a dominate color in a space. Like filling a basket or vase with artichokes. I would love to design a whole kitchen or dining area around this one image.

Colors inspired by this space: Cable Knit Sweater from Fluid Blues Volume

The crisp white and subtle blue hue are gorgeous together. This would make a great kitchen or bathroom color story.

I am now day dreaming about how I would decorate my dream home using these images as inspiration! The Shades of Gray Volume will be my inspiration for my master bedroom update. I won’t be getting to it for a while, but I’m excited about it.

What is your favorite? What image speaks to your design style?

You are so right about this new line being amazing! I was also at the event, and am super inspired to start painting. Right now I’m thinking about going with Smoke and Mirrors, just loving that Shades of Gray color story that they have.
