For all you long time readers, you may have noticed that not a whole lot has changed in our downstairs/main living area since the first year we moved in. There have been a few gradual changes over time, like our big paint refresh last year and switching out some throw pillows here and there. But most of the furniture has stayed the same. At the start of this year I was feeling the itch to make some big changes to our downstairs and before I knew it we had rearranged the furniture, sold off a whole bunch of stuff and started making changes. You can see a lot of the real time progress on my InstaStories!
Spring Entry Way
One of the first big changes I made was moving my favorite console table from the living room to our entry way. I used have have the smaller sawhorse table in here , I still liked the overall look but just wanted a change. That, and I am obsessed with this old carpenters table and am determined to always find a place for it in our home. Always.
I think the larger table looks a little better out here anyway, it seems more propionate with the chunky set of mirrors.
Creating Your Own Flower Arrangements
I freshened up this space for spring with adding a set of three white matte vases and crated some pretty flower arrangements using flowers I picked up at the grocery store. You can see all of them together here!
It will be fun to work with this space over the next year and play around with styling and placement of items. But so far I’m really enjoying having it out there!
I can’t wait to show you how the rest of the family room is coming together! We moved to the sectional to the opposite side of the room and I made a few other small changes. Everything feels so different already and I’m embracing the change!
