Outdoor Table Setting Ideas

Thanks For Sharing!

Disclosure: I am a member of the BHG Live Better Network. I received compensation from BHG at Walmart for this post.

I am so excited for summer entertaining this year! Over the next few weeks I’ll be showing off a few of our outdoor spaces and how we are getting ready for the warm weather and social gatherings. We are having our first group of guests over this weekend for a Mother’s Day celebration and I would LOVE to be able to eat outside and enjoy the warm weather. The only problem, we don’t have an outdoor table to dine on!

Gray outdoor tablePurchasing an outdoor dining set hasn’t been at the top of our list, so I went on a hunt to find an inexpensive solution that would get us through the summer. I’ll be sharing more on this adorable picnic table later on, but it only cost me $120!

Now let’s chat about getting it ready for entertaining and talk outdoor table setting ideas!

Gray Stained Table and neutral summer tablescapeI love eating outside, there is just something so relaxing about being outdoors in good company, feeling the nice warm breeze and sipping on a nice beverage and eating delicious food.

I swear this starts at a young age because even my four year old begs us to eat dinner outside whenever it’s sunny out. I love it.

BHG BAMBOO SALAD BOWLI found some beautiful pieces from the BHG Live Better Line at Walmart to really finish off my summer tablescape. I love these little bamboo bowls paired with the gray and white. They add a little pop but also keep the setting neutral.

BHG Bread Basket and Salad Bowl

Pass the bread please (if only my gluten free bread looks this delicious!). Even though its works great for outdoors, I have a feeling I’m going to be using this wire bread basket year round too!

BHG LanternI just adore these little outdoor Lanterns, they are so cute and trendy and only cost $12.00. Adding candles to your outdoor table adds a little ambience and provides just enough light to keep you sitting outside as the sun goes down.
Drink dispenserThis Glass Beverage Container and stand are prefect for summer entertaining. Place on a little table and let guests serve themselves throughout the day.

I’m so excited to finally have people over and enjoy this space!

Because we live in CA, our yard. Is set up all year round. We have a table and chairs that we use frequently to work at or dine one. It’s just a relaxing place to hang out. It’s relatively shady, but if we were to do anything more for summer, we might haul out the umbrella for the table although that is not totally necessary.

We have been talking about getting a hammock for ages. That might just happen this year.

For entertaining outdoors, I usually love to set up a little foodie and drink table. That is what I enjoy decorating the most. The table we eat at is usually just fun paper plates and colorful napkins, since I like easy clean up.

We mow the lawn and make sure our garden looks pretty and plant beautiful flowers to see. We also make sure that our table is nice and neat for food and drink (by cleaning it with a scrubber and spray)

I prepare my outdoor space, by cleaning up the lawn, flower beds, and planting new plants. Sweeping the patio and washing it. Then I bring out my table and chairs, and lighting.

We uncover the deck furniture, decide whether we should restain the pieces or eek out another summer with the current status, drag out the cushions and check the condition, and locate the umbrellas and bases. This takes most of the day so we reward ourselves with a weiner roast in the fire pit to celebrate the start of summer.

I love the outdoors and can’t wait to get it all ready when spring gets here. I usually have flowers blooming throughout the year and I hang ferns on my porch, get the grill out and get the outdoor furniture and firepit ready for good times! Love the tablescape!

We put plants and flowers in the garden to get it ready for the different seasons and lay mulch so we dont have to weed as often.

Clean the patio, get out the outdoor furniture, and the best part is plant pretty flowers! I love the table setting with the striped runner. I would love to know where you got the runner. Happy Mother’s Day!
