When we moved to Texas, one thing I was NOT prepared for was how crazy everyone gets over Halloween! Our neighborhood goes ALL OUT with Halloween decor and our first year I definitely felt like the underdog. Ever year, we add a few new pieces to our outdoor halloween collection and this year might be my favorite yet. Let’s take a tour of my chic halloween outdoor decor.
Chic Halloween Outdoor Decor

Enter if you dare! It’s a little more cutesy than spooky but we still have some fright! This year I added a few cornstalks on either side of the gates and love them.

As you walk in, my new addition this year are these cute little pop-up ghosts! I found this set of 3 ghosts on Amazon and I love them! They were very easy to put together, come with twinkle lights and are the perfect addition this year.
One of the creepy things my kids did pick out was this pop-up jack-o-lantern! It IS scary!

Modern Halloween Porch Decor

Halloween doesn’t have to be all orange and black plastic—your outdoor space can be festive and stylish. I want to show how to transform your seating area into a chic Halloween haven with subtle, sophisticated touches.

Start with a neutral color palette to keep the look elegant and cozy. Cream-toned cushions, a textured outdoor neutral rug, and natural POLYWOOD furniture provide a warm foundation. Add seasonal textures with a vase of dried pampas grass as a centerpiece—it’s simple, stylish, and adds movement and height to your setup.

Pumpkins are a must, but go beyond the standard jack-o’-lanterns. Mix and match various sizes and shades of pumpkins—white, blush, and muted orange for a curated, elevated look. Cluster them around furniture legs and lanterns to ground the space and draw the eye. I stay away from decorative pumpkins and buy real heirloom pumpkins! It makes such a big difference! I also found these cinnamon broom sticks from Target for under $10 and they are so cute!

Wall décor can still be festive without being kitschy. Black outdoor bats arranged in a flying pattern across the brick wall give an instant Halloween vibe while keeping things minimalist. Add in details like a faux black spooky tree or a handmade broom for subtle witchy charm.

Candles and copper lanterns (battery-powered for safety) enhance the mood, especially as the sun sets. Position a few oversized lanterns next to your seating for soft ambient light that feels magical.

Finish with themed pillows—like one with a cute textured pumpkin design—and cozy throws to keep guests comfortable. I paired them with my favorite staple linen black pillows. This space proves that you can embrace Halloween without sacrificing your design aesthetic. It’s the perfect blend of spooky and chic—ideal for entertaining or just enjoying crisp fall evenings outdoors.

With just a few thoughtful touches, your outdoor seating area can become a seasonal showstopper. This look is festive, cozy, and undeniably stylish—proof that Halloween can be elegant too. I always include natural elements into my design. This pampas grass wreath can work for fall decor, transition into Halloween and even Thanksgiving!
