Family Room Part 3: The Gray Sectional

I’ve given you all several peeks into the family room over the past few weeks and today I have another! In case you missed the first one, it’s being shown on the Arhaus blog this week, so head over and take a look!

Today, I’m showing off our new gorgeous gray sectional! This room was definitely a challenge to design because of how large it is and because it has a corner fireplace. The size  and the different angles have really thrown me off but in the ned I think it is working out! I’m really glad we decided to go with the Flanders Silver Sectional from Arhaus. It is the perfect size and the lines are gorgeous.

Gray Sectional from ArhausI absolutely love this couch, but it’s proving to be a little difficult to capture the full beauty because there is a slight sheen to the fabric. It is made with a soft velvet fabric (feels a lot like microfiber) and it has a subtle silver glimmer when light hits it. I will say that the color is a much lighter gray than I expected, but I still love it.  I noticed that Arhaus now offers this same couch in Charcoal which would be another great option!

Modern with Rustic Charm

We had a large leather ottoman in our old house that we completely wore out so it was time for a new one! I have always loved how leather ottomans make a space feel so cozy and I really wanted our family room to have a modern look with a comfortable feel.  We chose the ottoman in Libby Smoke, it’s a really pretty color that blends with it’s environment. It is an extremely dark brown, that could also look like a worn black leather in some lights. And I love that it’s on coasters, it makes it so easy to move around!

You want to know a secret, I am obsessed with throw blankets. I don’t even want to tell you how many I own and if I ever buy anything ‘on a whim’ while shopping, it’s a blanket. Maybe it’s because I’m cold all the time or I just like to feel cozy when I’m curled up on the couch, I’m not sure. But I love them. I found this blanket in a set of two on Overstock.

Nailhead Detail Work

Aren’t those nailheads simply gorgeous?!?! I love the clean lines of this couch mixed with a very classic look.

Black and White Rustic Modern PillowsDoesn’t anyone else have decorating ADD? I swear I rearrange and switch out the pillows on this couch every day. I want to coordinate with our white sofa with black and white pillows , but also not be too matchy matchy. I’ve been working hard on blending the two looks and I think I still have a little work to do!

Beautiful sectional. Love the color. That furniture store is way to expensive for me. Oh how I wish I could shop there! I noticed how deep the sectional is. Is it comfy for you, or do you find yourself leaning back . Like your laying down. Just wondering.

I think it is really comfortable! It is on the firmer side, but I personally like it. We previously had oversized micro-fiber couches that were really deep so these seem more standard.

Staircase reveal part one! SWIPE for the before an Staircase reveal part one! SWIPE for the before and to see all the details. This has been a major project over the course of the last 7 months, and it has been so exciting to see it all come together. My goal was to create an elegant and timeless look to our staircases, adding character with unique features of the railings, classic neutral runners with gold stair rods to complete the look and a moment for the large luxe chandelier that you can see from the courtyard. And of course a fresh look with smooth creamy walls.

But I’m not entirely done just yet! Part 2 will be coming in 2026!
