Ok. You all know me by now and I can’t get away from neutral decor. I just love it and it is me. SO when it comes to holiday decor I really like to blend it in with my home decor and my personal style. Which means I tend to stay away from a lot of color. I’ve experimented with colorful holiday displays in the past and while they are fun I have to be honest with myself. I’m a neutral girl through and through :)
Today is the first Wednesday of the month which means it’s my monthly blog hop day with a bunch of lovely bloggers. We are all sharing our Easter Crafts today and I chose to share my DIY Modern Easter Eggs!
DIY Easter Eggs
These eggs seriously took no time at all and were actually not even a planned project. You see, my 3-year-old daughter requested that we go to the craft store and buy some eggs to decorate together and I couldn’t resist. I love it when she asks to do a specific craft. She knows I can’t say no and I absolutely love to craft with her. It’s easily my favorite activity we do together (surprise). When we got to the craft store she picked out ‘baby’ paper maché eggs and told me that I needed to decorate the ‘mommie’ size ones. So that’s what we did :)
Paper Mache Easter Eggs
While she loves to do crafts together, her attention span is pretty short. So it’s a good thing these eggs were pretty quick. I think it took me 30 minutes and that’s being generous :)
I used jewelry wire to make a funky bow around one of the statement eggs and then used a black Sharpie and white chalk pen to create designs on the others.
Annnnd here is a peek at my new concrete counter tops! I can’t wait to reveal the whole kitchen :)

so darned cute Taryn. I’d have never thought to decorate plain paper mache eggs into pretty ones. You did such a great job decorating them.
I wish I could be more neutral, that’s why your home looks so restful, not a wild zoo. I try to be neutral but somehow all the colors in rainbow show up. You have a great outstanding style.
Can’t believe before we know it your little Mr will be a year old. Hope you’re all doing well. Is big sister still being a good big sister? Happy Spring days

Since Facebook is notorious for not letting page owners know when I tag them, I thought I would stop by myself and let you know I featured this post and my readers loved it! https://www.facebook.com/CraftsbyAmanda/photos/pb.323548680216.-2207520000.1397173018./10154023951945217/?type=3&theater
