Anything to make life a little easier these days, right?! What if I told you you could control all of your home lighting from an app on your phone? From setting schedules, to dimming lights in the evenings, and turning them on in the mornings. We have been slowly converting our lighting to smart home lighting with Caséta by Lutron. It’s AMAZING.

Smart Dimmers & Switches

About a year ago we installed the Caséta Smart Dimmers & Switches for our kitchen and entry way sconces. Wall sconces are typically more accent lighting and “mood lighting”, so we keep them on a schedule to go off late in the evenings and on in the early mornings. I also keep them on a dimmer setting for more of a mood lighting.

I honestly love when we have all of the lights turned off around the house, but the sconces stay on a little later and provide a nice moody light in the evenings. Just enough to see where you are going and have a few decorative elements lit up in the darkness!

All of the Caséta by Lutron products connect to a Smart Bridge (sold in the kit), so once you have one bridge set up, you can control all of your Smart Lighting from the Lutron App on your phone. SO convenient!

Smart Switches

We already love the Caséta by Lutron products, so when they reached out a few months ago to work together I couldn’t say no. We are huge fans of the products and couldn’t wait to add more smart lighting to our home.

I know I haven’t revealed our full exterior yet, but we recently painted our house Tricorn Black and changed out our exterior sconces. We decided to convert them to a Caséta by Lutron Smart Switch. Through the Smart Switch we now have the ability to set our exterior lights on a schedule. No more driving home late at night to a dark house, or forgetting to turn them off in the mornings. PLUS! You can control them from the app on your phone so you can turn them on whenever you want, even from your couch :)

Outdoor Smart Plug

Ok guys, I’m saving my favorite product for last! We just installed outdoor string lights in our new backyard and one of my concerns throughout the project has been, “Well how am I going to be able to turn these on every night?”. We have an outdoor outlet under our roofline, but it doesn’t connect to a switch in the house. I kept thinking I’d have to get a ladder out every time.

You guys, I cannot tell you how excited I was when I found out about the Caséta by Lutron Outdoor Smart Plug. It honestly solved all of my problems and works seamlessly. The Smart Plug is essentially a connector from the outlet to your light source. In my case our string lights. It also pairs with the app on our phones so I can turn our string lights on and off through the app! SO EASY! Oh my gosh, this has been a total life saver for me.

You can also pair all the Caséta by Lutron products with your Alexa and have them voice activated.
