I’ve been waiting a whole year to post this Christmas table! Last fall I had the most amazing opportunity to appear on The Rachael Ray show and share some Christmas decorating tips that turned into a friendly competition! You can see my full recap on the experience here. Anyway, some of my tips included a few ideas on decorating a table for the holidays. On the show I used all the materials and decor that was available me back there and I came up with this organic and modern Christmas table. I decided to recreate it in my own home so I could share it with you on the blog. It is simple, interesting and uses so many natural elements. It’s definitely easy to recreate.
I’m also joining several fellow bloggers who are all sharing beautiful holiday tables this week! So be sure to scroll down to the bottom to hop to all of theirs! If you are coming from Town and Country Living, welcome!
Organic Modern Christmas Table
I use the term ‘organic’ table lightly because I can’t claim that anything on the table is necessarily organic… I’m using it more to describe the feel of all the natural elements used in the design. From the linen table cloth, dried greenery, fresh pomegranates and simple place settings.
Live Edge Bowl Centerpiece
When I was putting together this table, I was looking for a centerpiece and found a live edge bowl similar in our green room. I loved the lines so much and they were gracious enough to let me use it on my table! Coincidentally my mom also owns one just like it, so I was able to use this one for my table :)
Copper Table Decor
Copper was my accent material for this table. I used the moscow mule mugs and the flatware to bring a little pop to the table and a little extra class. I also created these DIY Wire Trees as something fun and funky on the table. Definitely a conversations started!
DIY Wire Trees
These DIY Copper Wire Trees were one of the DIY Tips I shared on The Rachael Ray Show! They take only a minute to make (literally) and and bring dimension and character to the table. Genevieve Gorder was one of the judges on my episode and she described them as very “Dr. Seuess”. I couldn’t agree more, they are fun and different and a little quirky. You can watch the DIY Tutorial on the episode here!
Simple Christmas Place Setting
With the drama of the centerpiece, I kept the place settings very simple and elegant. Using off-white dishes and just a simple rolled napkin. I used the same wire as the trees to make some DIY Copper Napkin Rings and then placed a few sprigs inside for a little pop of color.
And I just can’t get enough of this flatware I picked up this fall. It’s my absolutely favorite.
