It’s week three of our Seasonal Design Series. Instead of sharing new projects we are here to help guide you through our process and why we make the decisions we do when it comes to seasonal decor. Today, I’m sharing tips for decorating your outdoor space for fall.
I had every intention of getting our back patio all decorated for fall for this post but with all the construction goin on back there for the new patio, getting it cleaned up just wasn’t going to happen! Hello dust and mud everywhere! So I’m sharing some pics from previous years to illustrate the elements include to make this space feel extra cozy for the cooler months ahead.
Tips For Decorating Your Outdoor Space For Fall
PUMPKINS!
Let’ start with the most important part of decorating for fall, pumpkins! Gather up those pumpkins, real or fake and start clustering them in various parts of the space. I like to pair one larger pumpkin with a bunch of smaller ones around it. You can mix and match colors too!
Just remember clusters of pumpkins can go everywhere. Place an oversized bowl on a coffee table and fill it up small and medium pumpkins. It creates such a great organic look and instantly fall.
Cozy Fall Blankets
Gather up those blankets and get cozy! I keep a few plaid and textured blankets tucked away for fall. I love bringing them back out once the weather starts to cool down. Keep a basket of them on the porch for when the sun goes down or the cool mornings and drape them over the arm of the chair for ease.
All About The Mums
Mums are my favorite plant to bring out for fall. They are a staple, a more traditional fall plant, but I love them so much. I love how you can simply change up the colors each year and they feel different. From dark pink to red and orange and yellows. Which ones are your favorite?
Add Texture and Grasses
Just like we talked about earlier this season, adding texture for fall makes all the difference. There are so many ways to do this, especially in an outdoor space. But adding dried grasses and cottonstems are always great vase fillers and table decor.
