Let’s face it, we have three little kids with crazy schedules and early bed times, and date nights out aren’t always possible. We try to have them as much as we are able to, but sometimes date nights at home are a lot easier to squeeze in! Plus you can wear whatever you want and save some money! During the summer months we try to plan simple dates on our back patio after the kids go to bed. It’s such a great way to carve out time for each other, reconnect and just enjoy your own home without having three crazy ninjas running around. With National Rosé Day quickly approaching, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to share some of my tips for a perfect date night at home! So get that date night in on the calendar for June 9!

Tips for a Great Date Night at HomeCozy up by the fire with nice beverage and yummy food for a perfect date night at home with your significant other!

Prepare Some Date Night Apps

You don’t always need to prepare a full meal! By the time we are venturing out on our little date night, we’ve already had dinner and put the kids to bed. But it’s still fun to put together something a little fancy to snack on. A big Charcuterie Plate is always a favorite, but you could also do s’mores by the fire, or whip up some ice cream sundaes! And of course you can’t forget a delicious beverage to top things off! I drink Rosé year round, but it’s especially my favorite during the summer months! And this Day Owl Rosé is honestly one of the best I’ve had.

Set the Mood

Pick a location that is free of distractions and allows for some peace and quiet. Our outdoor patio is my favorite place for date night! I make it cozy by setting the fire and putting together a nice display of our food and drinks, and maybe even a few candles! If you don’t have a fireplace to sit next to, you can always get a little portable fireplace or outdoor heater! Or maybe you live somewhere incredibly warm and all you need is a comfy chair and nice view and a little blanket for a picnic. The couch works too!

Pop The Cork

Or in this case twist the top! I’ll gladly find any excuse to drink a nice refreshing glass of Rosé so I’ll happily say cheers to National Rosé Day by pouring an extra glass with my handsome hubby!

This Day Owl Rosé is a crisp, fruity California rosé with notes of floral red fruit and vibrant orange zest. It has a dry, elegant finish with dark cherry, dried strawberry, plum, lavender and vanilla flavors. For all you wine lovers, Barbera is the primary varietal in this Rosé. I thought it was interesting to note that this Italian varietal is perfect for drinking today, so seize the moment.

Cheers to The Night!

Finding time for just the two of us is sometimes an accomplishment in itself, but we always find something to ‘cheers’ to when we have a date night. It’s a fun way to celebrate the little things whether it’s the simple celebrations of a date night or celebrating big win at work or with the family. It kicks off the night on a positive note and sets a fun tone for the rest of the evening!

Cozy Up In A Blanket

As the sun sets and the weather cools down grab a blanket and get cozy! I have a whole bin of blankets on our outdoor patio because I think it adds an extra element to relaxing on those summer nights. It makes things a little more intimate and makes you get a little closer :)

Laugh Together

Laugh. I know it sounds like a simple thing but it’s true. Find time to laugh together. Throughout the years we’ve gone through a lot of different stages from pure exhaustion raising babies and little kids to busy schedules and just basic adulting. It’s easy to spend time talking about everything we have going on and the next thing on the to-do list. So take time to lighten the conversation and laugh. Play a board game, grab a deck of cards or make a list of questions and throw them in a bowl and both of you have to answer!

Enjoy!

How are you celebrating National Rosé Day? With a date night in or out with girlfriends? It’s definitely a holiday I don’t want to miss, that’s for sure! Hope you enjoyed some of my tips!
