Where have the past three months gone?! In some ways it feels like we have gotten so much done being home this spring, and in other ways I feel like we barely touched our project list and just added a lot more unfinished spaces. But here we are at the start of summer and I wanted to show you some of our updated spaces with a little simple summer house tour.
If you are coming from She Gave it a Go, welcome! I hope you are enjoying all of the other house tours this week!
Simple Summer House Tour
We had a stretch of gorgeous weather in April and we were able to tackle a lot of big outdoor projects before our rainy weather hit. I painted our front door with a dark charcoal gray, but I am about to take it a little darker soon!
We also pruned up all our landscape and laid fresh bark over our entire front yard! Whew! What a project, but so glad it’s done. It was needed.
Summer Entry Way
When it comes to seasonal decor, I like to keep simple changes. Added flowers, some different plants and vase fillers. I remember a time when I thought I had to buy all new pillows and add a lot more new decor to make our home feel super different for each season, but I realize now that it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s all about loving the home you have and making super simple changes to make it feel fresh.
Peonies or other fresh flowers are a great way to add a pop of color and make a room feel welcoming. I am so excited to plant some peonies soon so I can have access to them whenever I want! I can’t wait to get started on our garden area. For now I’m thankful for neighbors who like to share!
Summer In The Kitchen
My same rules apply to the kitchen! It’s all about fresh flowers and adding a few new seasonal prints and decor to the shelves.
I just got this vase at one of my fav stores that’s closing out and I am so excited about it! I think I got it for like $6! And can we talk about always having a candle burning in the kitchen? Who else? I always love the way it makes our kitchen feel.
These shelves are one of the places where I do switch up a bit of decor each season and holiday. One of the reasons why I’m so thankful I put them in during the kitchen remodel in the fall. You can see more details on our summer shelf decor and grab some of the prints!
Summer Outdoor Space
Another big project this spring was refinishing our back deck! That was a big project, but it really needed it. While I love the contrast of the black, it is proving to get super dirty quickly, so we are working on a solution to that.
I have some more big updates to this space coming up next week! I already changed out the light fixture and am in the process of painting the ceiling white! Ohhhhhh. So stay tuned on this!
Hope you had a wonderful time touring some of our main spaces . Be sure to hop to Rooms FOR Rent next.
