Over the years Christmas decor has become a lot more minimalistic around here. It’s more about adding texture, nature and warmth then gimmicking figurines and signs. For me, it’s about bringing in lots of greenery, lighting, sparkles and subtle festive touches. I truly love how simple this year’s neutral Christmas with green garland.

Neutral Christmas Mantel With Green Garland

Last year, we still had our TV over our mantel (which always bothered me), and it feels so good to finally have a fully styled mantel this Christmas. I always feel like a mirror over the mantel gives off such a glow and reflects the beauty of the room around it. Especially this time of year, it just sparkles.

I really love how our mantel turned out this year! I think it is simple yet festive and something that can even last through winter if we wanted. There is just one small thing missing from it. I wanted to hang these larger vintage bells off the left side to balance it out, but they are running late! And I couldn’t find any near me. So they will have to wait.
Twisting Two Green Garlands Together

For our garland, I twisted two different kinds of artificial garland together to create a full look filled with lots of texture. I went with this artificial Fraser Fir garland and this whimsical cedar garland.
Then, I made this DIY Vintage Bell Garland and draped it across the mantel so it gently falls on top of the greenery. Adding a little pop against the green.

It’s no secret that I like to switch up my decor often. But there are a few things that are sentimental and we will keep forever. From a design perspective, there are times when I want to hang a different set of stockings on the mantel for a little more contrast. But from a mom perspective, I made these drop cloth and sweater stockings when we became a family of four (and then added one more!).

ALSO! I haven’t shared the big news…. but we FINALLY got new living room furniture to complete our space! I’m giving you a little sneak peek here, but tune into IG Stories this weekend for the full reveal!
