When I’m decorating an entire room, one of my biggest obstacles is that there are just way too many options for decorating a space! I am a horribly indecisive person, especially when it comes to decorating, which is probably why room makeovers take me so long to complete. BUT there is nothing better than making the right decision and seeing your vision come together, am I right?
As I mentioned before, I’ll be slowly revealing parts of the new family room to all of you while I am waiting for more supplies to finish the room. Today, I’m showing you my new Decorative Basket Wall.
I was inspired by The Inspired Room’s Basket Hangings and decided it was the perfect look for the space. I wanted something rustic, vintage and a little eclectic.
I spent the last few months collecting baskets from various shopping trips. I scavenged the Goodwill and antique stores, pretty much every where I went until I found the perfect ones. What is great about this basket wall is it is easy to change out and easy to add to.
To add dimension to the wall, I added a caddy and filled it with glass bottles. The floral accents can be switched out seasonally, flowers for summer, branches or willows for winter and grasses.
I picked up these grasses in the fields behind my house. Charming, don’t you think?
One of my favorite pieces on the wall is this antique steamer. I picked it up at a local antique store for $10. I love it.
Here is the shopping directory for my baskets:
1. Antique steamer from Ruffles and Rust Antique Shop (local) ($10)
2. Goodwill find ($2)
3. Shabby Cottage Chic Wire Storage Basket from Amazon ($10)
4. Goodwill find spray painted with Rustoleum Rubbed Bronze ($2)
5. Dollar store basket spray painted with Rustoleum Rubbed Bronze ($1)
6. Antique Style Small Wire Basket from Amazon ($5)
7. Wire Bottle Caddy from Cost Plus World Market ($6)
I can’t wait to show you more! But for now you will have to wait :)

Really adorable!! And great pics! Visiting from tt&j :)
I love the look of the dark baskets on the wall, I bet you get some awesome shadows! It can be really hard start from no where. I hate having to pick paint colors off the chip wall, too many choices, takes forever! I’ve started hitting the reject paint cart at Lowes, fewer options and I usually find something I like!
I am in love with this!! I am pinning and sharing on facebook! : )
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it Taryn!! It looks amazing!
This turned beautiful! Love the display!
I love this fresh and clean take on wall art! This is the perfect way to display special treasures!
What a wonderful project Taryn! It is so amazing how something as simple as a basket when grouped together and hung on the wall becomes a gorgeous and artistic collection. :-) Love it!

Wow, this looks amazing! You really did a fabulous job! Thanks for sharing the inspiration!
What a clever idea! The metal baskets look stunning on your wall and look like a high end Anthropologie display. Kudos on not cluttering up the area with too much stuff. I have a problem doing that and I am trying to pull back from the crowded, cluttered look.
That is a great idea. I love the look. Vintage baskets are one of my favorite things as well. You found the perfect sizes and shapes for your display.
Beautiful. I love this idea!

I saw this on Pinterest and in link party. It looks fab!

So clever and pretty!! They almost look like they are just floating there on the wall. I love the different textures of each basket.
I love your idea!!!!! I’ve seen wicker and all the other african baskets on walls, but not metal/wire ones! Thanks for sharing! I saw this btw on “Carolyn’s Homework” :-)

I adore this idea! I love wire baskets. At my house, we discussed hanging them on the wall in the bathroom and filling them with towels and whatnot so they became cute storage. They are so cool looking on their own, though. LOVE your wall!
