Disclosure: This post is brought to you by Silhouette of America.
Are you ready for some football and some amazing deals from Silhouette?! Oh this post is jam packed with goodness. Seriously, it can’t get much better.
Let’s kick this post off with some fabulous deals from Silhouette of America. Have you ever wanted to make your own stamps? Well, they just launched a Stamping Starter Kit that allows you to do just that. I had a chance to play around with it and decided to make some Custom Bottle Hang Tags For Tailgating this fall!
Whenever we go tailgating, it never fails that I lose track of my beverage or mix it up with someone else’s. No matter if you are drinking water, cider, root beer or an adult beverage, these fun tags will help you keep track of your drink and get you in the football spirit!
I used my Stamping Starter Kit by Silhouette of America to make the really fun print on the tags. The kit comes with 3 sheets of stamp material (6 in x 7.5 in), cutting mat for stamp material, 3 in x 4 in acrylic block, 2 in x 3 in acrylic block, 1 black ink pad, 10 exclusive stamp designs, Instructional DVD, Idea/Instruction book.
Like I mentioned recently, I am loving the honeycomb pattern right now so I had to use it for this project. I uploaded the free designs included in the pack and then used the honeycomb pattern. I kept it small since the tags were going to be small.
Once I got the pattern in place, I loaded the stamping material on the stamping cutting mat and adjusted the settings on my Silhouette.
I had to play around with my settings a bit, some of the stamps I made tore on the stamping material and others didn’t cut all of the way through. It’s definitely a different medium to work with and has a learning curve but it also has TONS of potential. Once you get the hang of it, you can make so many almost anything you like.
I cut out the honeycomb pattern and placed it on the stamp. I also did a football stamp but decided not to use it for this particular project.
I covered an entire sheet of Silhouette Chipboard using the honeycomb stamp. You can see that some areas didn’t transfer as well, but it all depends on how well you put down on the stamp. I think it was user error on my end.
Once the sheet was covered, I placed it back into the Silhouette and cut out the hang tags. I added the labels and then used a green pen to personalize each tag.
