It’s officially November 1, so you know what that means!?! It’s officially Christmas season on the blog! We won’t decorate our entire house until later this month but I LOVE kicking off the season with the annual Michaels Makers Dream Tree Challenge. This is my third year doing the challenge and it’s SO much fun. I’m definitely getting in the Christmas spirit over here and even buying and wrapping gifts. Eeek!
This year I did a Modern Black and White Christmas Tree. It’s full of clean black and white lines mixed with rustic touches. It makes our master bedroom soooooo cozy and festive!
Black and White Christmas Tree
Decorating a White Pencil Tree
Michaels has been my go-to for all things Christmas over the past few years. Every year they have different Christmas Decor Themes to shop from, they are SO cute this year and all so different. There is something for everyone! From trees to ornaments and holiday décor, Michaels has everything you need to MAKE this holiday your own! You can even shop over 100 Christmas Trees at Michaels.com.
A Full Christmas Scene
Every single thing in this display is from Michaels, even the adorable black and white napkins! I had so much fun going through each aisle and looking through all the goodies and beautiful details. There is SO much to choose from this year.
I have actually been on top of my Christmas presents this year, believe it or not I have already started shopping and all of these gifts under the tree have real presents for my kiddos! But shhhh don’t tell them that! I love these cute paper gift boxes. I am soon who believes in easy gift wrap. I love my package to look pretty, but I also like them simple and elegant. Just a simple ribbon and homemade tag. (PS. I’ll be sharing the free download for these soon!)
Black and White Ornaments
Black and White Christmas Gallery Wall
I have been searching for square black frames for this space for awhile, so this was the perfect addition to this corner! I created these modern black and white prints. I’ll be sharing these for download soon too!
For the tree trimmings, I added tons of different layers. I did three different ribbons, the black and white stripes, black fringe and then a DIY wood bead garland I made using wooden beads from Michaels. This took A LOT of beads! I also found this beautiful greenery there, it’s by far my favorite faux greenery I have ever used. I tucked a few of those branches inside for a little pop and organic look.
Wooden Star Tree Topper
For the tree topper, I kept it simple and actually used a wood star decor piece. It sat perfectly on top!For me, a lot of the Christmas tree is the display around it. It’s not always about the presents underneath but the full display the way it makes you feel and inviting nature.
I am officially inspired for this Christmas season! Can’t wait to start decorating more! See below for full links to all of the products used in this display!
