Laundry and Mudroom Ideas

Thanks For Sharing!

Hello, hi, how are you? Geesh it seems like forever.  A week off seriously feels like forever in my book. I’m happy to be back from a little impromptu hiatus. Nothing major happened. I just got carried away working on our kitchen remodel (I haven’t posted a lot on the blog yet but you can keep up to date on the progress on Instagram!) combined with a week of family birthdays and somehow that turned into a little mini blog vacation. Anyway. Onto today’s topic: Laundry and Mudroom Ideas!

One of our last big projects in the kitchen are the floors (You can read about our options here). Since our laundry room sits right off our kitchen it will automatically be getting new flooring so I thought I’d go ahead and spruce it up as well. It could definitely use some more organization! Our laundry room is the first room you enter from the garage so it also serves as our mudroom and it gets messy quickly. Did I mention it’s really really tiny? Coats and shoes everywhere combined with lots of laundry, our garbage can and the dog dishes. It needs some help. So today, I’ve put together some beautiful laundry and mudroom ideas to help me figure out what I want to do. Here is what I need: shoe storage, cute rack for drying clothes, hooks for the kid’s backpacks and coats and any extra storage would just be bonus.

But I love the shelf. I might need to do that! So this side of the laundry room is pretty much taken care of. Not much will change.

Now onto the opposite side of the space. This space needs to serve as both a drying area and storage unit. I love what Tracy from Beneath My heart did with the built-in bench that also serves as a storage space and it has hooks. And it’s no secret that I love the two tone look mixed with grays and black!

I’m sort of loving this entire space found on BHG. It is gorgeous and serves so many purposes. The bench with open shoe storage, the hooks and extra storage space above. Love.

I was actually envisioning something like this unit from Midwest Living from the beginning. I was thinking I could do shoe storage on one side, and cute display of laundry items on the other side and then instead of hooks I could do a rod. Oh the decisions!

I like this look from Muse Interiors . I could easily keep one cubbie for the kid’s items and turn the other into a drying rack for laundry. Not to mention every detail of this space is perfect.

We don’t have front loading washer/dryer so I couldn’t do this, but I could definitely build a folding shelf and floating shelves (tongue twister) on the opposite side. I really do love this sleek look (PS this entire laundry room from In The Fun Lane is super cute).

And this is not practical at all for my laundry room but I had to put it in because I love it. This will be in my dream home :) (source unknown)

Ok time to make some decisions! What are some of your must have features in a laundry and mudroom?

My husband and I are currently searching for our second home. After experiencing our first real winter I now know that with our 3 dogs a mudroom will be a must! Great collection of inspirational photos~

I have to live vicariously through all these inspirations because I will never have an amazingly organized space like this :(
So I totally can’t wait to see this!

Working on my laundry room as well ! Changing it into more of second pantry/storage area ( non food items) with laundry rather than utility and laundry. It has a place for back packs now , it’s behind the door so it basically works. :)
