I have a confession, in 2 1/2 years of blogging I’ve never done a Holiday Home Tour so this makes me super nervous! But today I’m opening up tiny bits of my home and showing you some of our holiday decor. Our house is on the smaller side so I tend to not put a TON of decor up, but I like to add just enough to bring the spirit of Christmas into our space.
I won’t talk much, I’ll just let you look. Enjoy!
I went with a neutral theme this year, filled with rich creams, champagnes silvers and golds with a few rustic touches.
Our tree sits in our living room, a space that rarely gets used (that’s all changing in 2014, big plans people!). In fact, more of our Holiday decor is in this room!
Our tree is adorn with the cream burlap ribbon, book page garland that I made last year, and neutral ornaments (many found at the dollar store).
I also added a few handmade ornaments this year including these Mini Bucket Pails with fresh cinnamon sticks.
We don’t have a mantel in our home so I always have to get creative with how we hang our stockings. This year I decided to hang ours using a piece of driftwood. I love how this looks and I might just keep it like this for years to come!
In this room you will also find my Winter White Vignette!
And on the coffee table sits a photo album that is filled with every single Christmas card we have received since we were married. It is so much fun looking back at all the pictures of our friends and family. There is also a copy of “The Night Before Christmas” which my husband reads to our family on every Christmas eve.
Moving into our dining area. I put together a simple centerpiece using a burlap table runner, greenery, DIY glitter candles and a lantern filled with ornaments.
I made the candles using the Double Sided Adhesive Kit from Silhouette. SUPER easy!
I don’t put much decor in our main family room but I did add a few hints here and there, like putting ornaments in my DIY Planter Box.
And I snuck in my JOY Scrabble Tiles and Wood Block Reindeer as well!
And lastly, one of my favorite pieces of our holiday decor is our Christmas Card Tree! I picked up this twig tree at a close out sale for $2.00 a few years back and I turned it into a display for all the cards we receive. I absolutely love getting the mail during this time of year and seeing all the beautiful cards that arrive each day.
Well there you have it! A simple little tour. :)
