Did you know wreaths are one of my very favorite things to make? (you can see all of them here!) I love making something unique and beautiful for my front door that welcomes guests throughout the year. I typically switch out my wreath with every season and now it’s time for CHRISTMAS!!!! I got a little creative on this one and made a DIY Plate Charger Christmas Wreath. Are you confused? Ok let’s take a look.
Today, I’m joining a group of bloggers to share brand new Christmas craft ideas, so keep scrolling to the bottom so you can gather even more inspiration for the holidays!
DIY Christmas Wreath
This is one of those crafts that would be great for a big holiday craft party because it can be customized in so many different ways. You can switch out the greenery for something more woodsy, or use metallic branches. You can also grab plastic ornaments from the dollar store and do so many different colors!
And if you don’t like the idea of doing a wreath, you can turn it into a decorate plate and display it with your Christmas decor!
Plate Charger Christmas Wreath
Christmas Wreath Supplies
- Unfinished Wood Plate Charger ( I got mine at my local craft store in the craft wood section)
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint
- Dried Greenery
- Christmas Ornaments
- Wood Beads
This is seriously the easiest project and you can customize it in so many ways. The first step is to paint the center black. I did two coats to give it a nice finished look.
While it’s drying, hot glue your greenery onto the edge of the charger.
Now, hot glue a few of the larger ornaments onto the center of the greenery.
Add in a few smaller ornaments to fill the gaps and create some texture.
Now give it a little bit more of a modern rustic look by adding in some natural wood beads to fill in the smaller holes.
