The kitchen remodel is done, so now I can start turning all my focus onto CHRISTMAS!!! I won’t start fully decorating for a bit, but I have started crafting a few things. I make one new set of handmade ornaments every year and this year I made some DIY Black and White Ornaments with a modern grid pattern. They took no time at all and only 3 supplies!

DIY Black and White Ornaments
Easy DIY Ornaments
SUPPLIES
- Martha Stewart Black Chalk Paint
- White Matte Ball Ornaments
- Decorative Ribbon
Start by painting a straight line (well as straight as you can, sometimes the imperfections are pretty too), all the way around the ornament.
Paint two full lines vertically, and then one horizontally. That’s it!
Let them dry and tie a little ribbon around the top. I opted for a pop of emerald but a deep red, eggplant or even black would look great!
Modern Grid Ornaments
I placed them in the big bowl in our kitchen for a subtle touch of Christmas. Oh and fair warning, you are probably going to get so tired of this space because I just can’t stop doing shoots in here!
I mixed the patterned ornaments with a few other larger ones and some wood beaded garland.

Love the ornaments, and mixed with the black and dark green it’s so modern looking. Love your wood bowl too. (Do you have a link?)

Love Love Love the ornaments. The black ornaments and dark green ribbon add such a nice modern touch!!
Placing them in your wooden bowl adds that bit of rustic element. (Do you have a link for the bowl?)
