Thanksgiving is just around the corner! We rotate between my husband and my families each year and I have a feeling it will be years before we actually host at our home, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have my table dressed up for Thanksgiving! I like my holiday decor to blend in with my every day decor, so I put together a very simple black and white fall tablescape.
In my opinion, you don’t have to go over the top with holiday decorations to make a statement. Sometimes simple is beautiful.
This whole look was really reasonable to put together using BHG Live Better Products at Walmart. I started with the Burlap Table Runner and layered it with these woven black and white place mats.
For the focal point I turned this beautiful white pumpkin tureen into a centerpiece and filled it with Indian corn, wheat and pheasant feathers. I gave it height by placing it on a wood craft canvas I found at Walmart.
To give it a little extra fall flare, I added a few white pumpkins along each side.

My faborite thing about Holiday entertaining is the aspect if celebrating with the spe ial things related to that holiday- getting out pilgrim statues and handmade turkeys from my kids, showcasing favorite Christmas ornaments, etc… All the while building memories and keeping traditions.

my favorite part of entertaining is all of the warm comfort food options to serve. I live in Phoenix and it is so darn hot most of the year that cooking and serving hot meals can be uncomfortable so I generally have to stick with grilling or salads.

I truly adore black and white in any room. I put a small white pumpkin on top of my mother’s 70 year old silver creamer (couldn’t throw the pumpkin away yet). I love family together at the Thanksgiving table sharing what the year has made them thankful for.

My favorite part about hosting the holidays is that it forces me to clean and organize the house, but also to be more mindful of my decorating. Sounds silly, but it really does help focus on what looks good and what might be deemed “over the top”

My favorite part of the holidays is the experiences I get to share with my family. The gingerbread houses, sleigh rides, decorating cookies (and giving them to neighbors), sing along to Christmas music while we drink egg nog and decorate the tree, wrapping gifts, and watching my 5-year-old son open them all. I love the whole experience!
