It’s been over a month since I shared a tablescape with you, so obviously I’m way over due! I have loved played around with all the beautiful blooms I gathered up for spring! You can see all of them in this post I did a few weeks ago. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to play around with all the stems and create a fresh new tablescape for spring. I loved our Thanksgiving table so much that I decided to do a new spin on it and try out a Moody Valentine’s Day Table.
Moody Valentine’s Day Table
If you follow along on Instagram, you may remember the new home brand I was chatting about over the holidays, Anko. They are an Australian company and just launched in the US with a few pop up shops in the Seattle area. I had a fun opportunity to attend a luncheon that the hosted and I was able to see first hand all their fun products. It didn’t take long for me to head to my local store and pick up some brand new dishes and serving pieces for my own home! You guys, their housewares selection is amazing and the prices are unbeatable.
Modern Serving Pieces
Obviously I HAD to walk away with the black stainless steel flatware, black ceramic dinner plates (you guys, these are only $2,50 each!) and chose a pretty gray striped ceramic salad plate to give a little contrast. The store definitely has a very modern/scandi vibe to it which I love, I couldn’t have brought a million pieces home with me! And they don’t just have dining pieces, they have tons of home decor, kids toys and party supplies too!
Inexpensive Table Runner Ideas
For the table runner, I used a very inexpensive solution! I ordered this huge roll of black paper on Amazon and it has served so many purposes around here! I used it for wrapping gifts and I’ve also used it as a table runner for a couple of table set ups. The best part is, after the party is done roll it up and toss it in the recycle!
To add a little texture, I put a light weight linen fabric on top of the paper along with black beaded garland and then added my florals!
Floral Valentine’s Day Table
I gathered a collection of pillar candles, white matte vases and a few glass ones and filled them with simple and organic looking floral arrangements! I love how all of the deep red, blush pink and magenta florals pop against the black and white canvas. And all the cascading greenery, yes please. Now that adds a little romance to the table!
I purchased all the florals on this table from a couple of different grocery stores. Proof that anyone can put this together! When picking out flowers at the store, I always look for complimentary colors that would work well together, take everything apart and then create my own arrangements.
Valentine’s Day Table Decor
This table decor could easily work for a spring dinner party or Valentine’s Day Dinner for the whole family or just two!
Oh and side note, I still love this modern accent chair I got a few years ago and I’m playing around with the idea of getting a matching one and putting them on either end of our dining table to give it a statement look. Thoughts?
And now I’ll leave you with a few more photos of the table to look at!
