Well, it’s hard to believe that after 3 years of blogging I have yet to share my home tour with you! And considering we are already living in our new home, I thought it was about time I showed you My First Home Tour.
I’ll admit, I have always been hesitant to share a house tour because for the last 6 years I never really felt like our house was ‘finished’. Well, leave it to the week we put our house on the market to check a million projects off the list and make it come together (somewhat). What I’ve learned along the way is that there will always be a to-do list, something that needs to be tweaked, built and rearranged and THAT is the beauty of making a house a home. It is a fun and beautiful journey that will never actually be finished.
With our new house I promise to share more in-progress pics with you all!
So let’s take one final look at Our First Home.

Miss E’s Room
(Sidenote: I was SO SO close to completely finishing this room, but I couldn’t justify working on two big projects that weren’t going to work in the new house. Although it was tempting. But here is how it looked when we left)

Gender Neutral Nursery
Oh the place where both my babies slept. I will miss this room.

Our first home. It’s kind of nice to have it all captured this way. What a wonderful home to spend the first six years of our marriage and welcome two children. I will also be posting all before and after pics of each room soon, too. Seriously what a difference!
Now onto a new home with new memories and new projects :)

Love love love what you did with your home. I am trying to talk my husband in doing the concrete countertops. Did they end up being any problem with potential
Buyers or where they a selling point? I love the industrial farmhouse look. Thanks for sharing!

This is a great question! I think it depends on your neighborhood. When we had our house appraised the appraiser said that we made a really smart decision based on the area that we live in. We would not have had a good ROI if we did granite or quartz. And we actually sold our house in part because the buyer loved them and hadn’t seen anything like our house in our price point. Hope that helps!

Such a beautiful tour! I’m drooling over your kitchen – the subway tile, cage pendant, open shelves, it’s like something out of a magazine. And your bedroom is beautiful! Perfectly styled and photographed, too! It’s amazing how much can be done in a couple of weeks. We’re moving soon too, and I’m sure I’ve gotten more done this past week than in the six months beforehand, combined. I also have a blog home tour coming up – nothing like opening the door to strangers to light a fire under me and get some stuff done! ;) Thanks for the lovely tour!

Love your home! What paint color is the living room?
Taryn says
Hi Kate! My entire downstairs is Travertine by Eddie Bauer, the darker color that you can barely see is Storm by Valspar.
