I brought out the fall decor bins this weekend and pumpkins are slowly making their way around the house. Over the years my fall decor has become a lot more minimalistic and I’m ok with that. What was once filled with farmhouse signs, crates and tons of STUFF has now been reduced to adding a lot of texture, warmth and neutral pumpkins.
Every season, the very first pace to get FALLified is the coffee bar and shelves in our kitchen. Today I’m going to walk through a little fall shelf styling and the few changes I make to this space as the seasons change.
Fall Shelf Styling
Moody Fall Decor
These shelves are the perfect place to add a few pieces of seasonal artwork, change out the vase fillers and add a few seasonal elements.
I am really loving the moody fall vibe this year. The darker artwork from Craftberry Bush paired with the pheasant feathers and copper pumpkins all work together to pull in the warm and moody tones.
Otherwise the rest of the shelf styling has stayed pretty similar to years before. It’s all about making the right subtle changes to make it feel fresh for the changing of the seasons.
I will try and link as much as I can for you, but often times when it comes to seasonal decor I use items I have collected over the years. I tend to keep favorites that really feel like my style and use them over and over again. No matter what items you have, it’s all about finding balance, adding texture and sticking with a color palette.

Hi Taryn. I am new to your site and admire your work. I am in the process of trying to have two, 34 inch x 11 x 1 1/2 size white birch kitchen floating shelves stain proofed and installed. Can you suggest a product that does not change the light natural colour? As well, needing advice on how to hang them? I have a wall by my window with only two studs, one behind the window trim and one to the left of that. The shelves will be between a patio door and a three pane window. So planning on keeping them about an inch or two from the side of the window. Also, trying to figure a back splash and if it should go up the wall behind the shelves. The shelves will be a few inches outside the edge of the countertop. I would appreciate your advice. Or, any sites that I may look at for direction. Thank you.
