End of bed benches… now say that five times fast! I am always searching for new ways to enhance our current spaces and end of bed benches do exactly that. They are the perfect piece of furniture to complete any bedroom styling. Whether they serve as a cozy place to sit, a catch-all for your clean clothes, or a spot for your pet to take a blissful nap – the opportunities are endless! PRO TIP: when selecting a bench, settee or small sofa – make sure it is slightly narrower than the width of your bed frame. Don’t choose something TOO small or else you run the risk of it looking disportionate! I suggest having 2-5″ gap on either side of the bench from the end of the bed frame.

You wouldn’t believe me if you saw the before photos of my daughter’s bedroom! While this room was an entire project of its own, this woven rattan bench was one of its last finishing touches. I was a little weary about the black arched canopy bed but it was a big investment piece that wasn’t going anywhere any time soon. Let this be a testament that it is possible to create a cohesive look with mixed mediums! I would love to say this bench is always clutter-free but let’s be realistic… it is usually covered in clothes, pillows, or blankets!

settee bench
Settee benches typically feature arms and/or a back making them the optimal choice for extra lounging space. This particular style end-of-bed bench is perfect for a minimalist bedroom, especially one lacking a headboard. Putting a settee bench at the foot of your bed actually helps tie the whole room together! Settee are perfect for bedrooms with TVs or a fireplace, they are a more comfortable style of bench to lounge in. While this black-and-white room certainly makes a statement, the settee bench is the centerpiece. Doesn’t this space look so open?
Side Note: this sofa is definitely a little too wide for our bed, but I loved it so much that I let it slide this time.
