Cute Halloween Treats With Lolly Jane

Thanks For Sharing!

Hi Design, Dining & Diapers readers! We’re twin sisters, Kristi & Kelli from Lolly Jane, a DIY/Craft blog full of tutorials, free for the taking (; Today we’re sharing a quick treat, perfect for Halloween or fall. And the easiest way to keep it fresh is in a cute mason jar, after you’ve glammed up the lids!

But first we want to say HI to Taryn, we’re so excited to be here taking over her blog for a day. We’ve been blog buddies with her for a long time now but sealed the deal when we met at SNAP! and crammed into a van full of girls to enjoy some late night onion rings and ice cream.

JDW's meets SNAPpers

This is the perfect Halloween or fall treat, it’s both sweet and salty so it’s completely satisfying! And it’s super inexpensive and makes a huge batch so it’s great for class parties, neighborhoods get-togethers, etc.

Easy candy corn popcorn mix!

To whip up your candy corn popcorn mix, you’ll need:

  • 1 bag of popcorn
  • 3 cubes vanilla coating
  • 1 cup of candy corn

Directions are simple:

  • Pop your popcorn, pick out any kernels.
  • In a second bowl, melt your candy coating cubes in the microwave (you can even use white chocolate, mmm) for about 40 seconds, then mix in 20 second intervals, mixing around in the bowl until it’s nice and smooth.
  • Pour candy coating over your popcorn and immediately add your candy corn. Stir until it’s well coated.
  • Lay on wax paper to dry.
  • Divvy into mason jars for cute and fresh storage.

To decorate the lids, paint them coordinating fall colors.

I skipped some pics, oops! BUT just take a q-tip, dip it in white acrylic paint and make white polka dots when the lids are dry.

Then take some decorative tape and wrap it around the lids.

Add a coordinating bow for a quick neighbor or teacher gift.

Great post and projects. So many projects, not enuf time (or money to buy stuff to make them). Treat jars are great, never heard of candy coating, will have to look for it. Of the other adorable Halloween decos my favorite is the stick witch on the moon, so cute. Now let’s see which ones should I make?
Hubs found one of my Fall decos boxes today, hoooooray, but now I need to change my arrangements to include some of it. I was prepared to make do without some of fall goodies. At least now I can decorate front porch some. Will have to put things away tho when it rains (again) end of this week. Not usually rainy here at this time of year.

Love the idea of candy corn and popcorn together but haven’t found the vanilla cubes…is that a regional item?
    thank you so much!

I’m going to use the jar decorating idea for my jars of homemade sugar scrub in gift baskets this Christmas!
