Little by little our interior is getting painted…. BY ME! If you follow on instagram I mentioned that we had a quote done for painting the interior of our home. Not even the whole interior either, JUST the main rooms and hallways. I was quoted $15K. Again, not even the whole interior. No thanks. It’s my goal this year to finish painting the entire interior of the house. After I finished the dining room last month, I decided to paint another section to keep chipping away at it! This time, part of our upstairs hallway. I already painted the bookcase area no it’s time to paint the area right at the top of the stairs. Out with the beige and in with the warm cream and let’s add a pretty rustic traditional vignette.
I tried to keep this project pretty budget friendly, so I used what I had and also scoured FB Marketplace for the console table. I’m going to break down the price for you at the end! I have had a lot of requests for this and I’m going to try and be better about it!
Rustic Traditional Vignette

This view up the stairs is now one of my favorites. It’s such a pretty vignette right when you walk up. It just makes me happy. Instead of a blank wall, it’s now a rustic traditional vignette that includes a unique console table with so much character. I got mine off of FB marketplace for about 1/3 of the price, but it’s still available here too! I love how the arches compliment the arches throughout the hallway.

For the styling, I found this large scale canvas print at Target, SUCH a good deal for a large print. Only $85! It’s not available online, but it seems to be available in most stores.
I found the large terracotta vase on a recent trip to Magnolia in Waco, it’s also available online! I filled it with these whimsical starburst stems at Hobby Lobby. I used about 7 bunches to fill the vase.
The candle holders I found at an antique market in Washington, they actually came in a set of 3 but I thought two worked well here. I’ve had them for years!

The change from this angle is SO GOOD! This was a very dark hallway that leads to my daughter’s room. It always felt like it needed a light. Well…. I asked our electrician if he could add a box there and he took a look at the drywall and goes, “Do you see that?! I think there is a box that has been covered up by the drywall?!” sure enough there was. So he reconnected the box and all I had to do was install the light! Bonus!
I saved money on this project by moving the existing hallway light over to the new box and then bought this gold art light to put above the canvas art.
