It was quite the weekend around here! We celebrated my two boys’ joint birthday party (pics coming soon), my phone was stolen while I was getting the balloons filled for the party, the kids were on a sugar high and somehow I got my fall porch done! Whew!
Decorating my porch is one of my favorite things so I decided to ask a few other bloggers to share their fall porches too! This whole week there will be 18 bloggers sharing their fall porches in a fun hop. You can hop around using the links below or follow on Instagram with the hashtag #FallPorchHop
I don’t decorate for every season or holiday. I typically just change things up for spring, fall and winter, but when I do, I like to stick with an overall theme. This year, I’m loving the dark rich neutrals mixed with metallics and a little bit of an orangy rust color. A little more traditional fall than I have done in the past.
I am horrible at keeping things alive in planters, especially in the shade. So I decide to ‘plant’ cornstalks instead! It’s hard to tell from the pics but the cornstalks are actually coming out of the middle of the planters and are surrounded by tons of white pumpkins! Oh how I love love white pumpkins. It’s seriously an obsession. Our house is covered in them.
I just loved my paint drip pumpkins I showed earlier this month, so I did a few more for the porch! I always like to add subtle accents, and this time I added a few mini paint drip pumpkins into the arrangement.
And I’m pretty sure every fall porch has to have some mums! They are so vibrant and instantly bring character to a space.
Sometimes I wish I had a big porch with wrap around deck so i could have a cute little bench or sitting area out front, but our little space will do :)
Oh neutrals.. you make my heart go pitter patter.
Now it’s time to porch hop! Be sure to head over to anderson + grant next!

I love your neutral and metallic front porch! It looks so welcoming to walk up to your front door. Great idea to “plant” the cornstalks…..reading your post just reminded me that I haven’t watered the mums I planted on my own deck for a few days. Oops! Thanks for putting this tour together!

So pretty! I LOVE the metallic touches. I think I might steal your thank you sign idea to give my porch even more height.

Super Super cute! Love all those metallics!

Beautiful as always! The metallic pumpkins are so pretty and I love the height that the cornstalks add. Thanks so much for having me on your fun hop!

The warm neutral colours on your porch are absolutely stunning! I love the gold, and how well it all works with your siding and beautiful front door!! Thanks for all your organizing, Taryn:)
Tara says
Hi!! I absolutely love this. How did you get the stalks to “stay”? :) thanks!

This is gorgeous! Exactly how I would like to do my front porch….if I could find white pumpkins! Are these real or painted? The craft pumpkins I’m finding are very fake looking with horrendous stems. Any tips?
Taryn Whiteaker says
Michaels has by far the best pumpkins!
Lauren says
Beautiful! How did you anchor the cornstalks?
Taryn Whiteaker says
I bound them together at the bottom and then anchored rocks around them! Then filled with some dirt.
