Patriotic Cupcakes and 100+ More Ideas!

Three-Cheers-for-the-Red-White-and-Blue-final-logo-2

Are you ready for some RED, WHITE AND BLUE?! The 4th of July is just weeks away and it’s one of my favorite times of the year. It’s the perfect time to get out the patriotic decor and make some fun treats! Today, I’ve partnered with 110 talented bloggers to bring you the Ultimate Red, White and Blue Roundup (Special thanks to Abbey from The Cards We Drew for coordinating)!  I’m showing you how easy it is to whip up some Patriotic Cupcakes, so easy the kids will want to join in on the fun.

Patriotic Cupcakes with Free Downloadable Cupcake Toppers!

You are going to start by making a basic batch of white cupcakes. I used this gluten-free recipe by Barefeet In the Kitchen (I used All-Purpose GF Flour instead and used egg-replacer and rice milk. And I only baked them for 8-10 minutes since I was doing cupcakes).  It really is a great recipe!

Divide the batter into three bowls. Put 1tsp of blue food coloring in one, 1 tsp of red coloring in the second and leave the third plain.

Then using a piping bag, fill in the cupcake tins by layering the different batters.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until you can pull a toothpick out clean.

Cool and then frost!

I made a basic buttercream frosting using 1 cup of room temperature butter, 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp of milk. You can alway add a little more milk or more powdered sugar to get your desired consistency.

Then just like the batter, divid into three bowls and color with red, white and blue. I put the frosting in piping bags to create the swirls.

And in case you want the cupcake toppers here is the FREE PRINTABLE!

Current snap shot of our main family room! We will Current snap shot of our main family room! We will be starting phase 1 in here later this year and I wanted to capture it as it stands now. Almost everything in here was either brought from our Washington home 3 years ago or bought second hand! Piece by piece this room has become a cozy space for our family over the last 3 years. The new stairs are staying and will work into the new design, I love them so much.

It was tricky. But I’m glad we kept going because the look is everything we envisioned and exactly what my son wanted. I still have lots more to do in here, it’s not even close to being finished. But I’m sure loving the dramatic before and after so far. Linking all sources.

I’ve been looking for the perfect accent chairs I’ve been looking for the perfect accent chairs for our family room for years! Any time we have guests over, or our whole family wants to hang out together, it always feels like we could use a few more seats to spread out and get comfy. I have had my eye on these gorgeous Vail accent chairs from @denvermodern and they didn’t disappoint. The leather is soft and high quality, they are wide and comfortable and the brass accents are chef’s kiss. They are perfection.
