My Favorite Holiday Aromas

Thanks For Sharing!

Thank you to Dunkin’ Donuts® coffee, available wherever you buy groceries, for sponsoring this post. Visit Dunkin’ Donuts®  to find a store selling Dunkin’ Donuts® seasonal packaged coffee near you. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective.

The pretty lights, the joyful music, the sounds of laughter and the beautiful wrapped gifts… all of these things remind us of the holidays. But for me, sometimes the best way to take in the season is not through what is seen but through the wonderful aromas that fill the air.

Today, I’m taking you through a little journey through the different smells that embrace my home during the holidays.

A little nutmeg can go a long ways, not only in taste but in smell as well. During the holidays I love using nutmeg in my baked goods and pies. I love that moment when a batch of my Pumpkin Spiced Cupcakes are baking in the oven and the aroma of nutmeg and seasonal spices fills the air. It makes the whole house feel so warm and cozy.

Cranberries are so beautiful to decorate with and they are also one of my favorite scents to have around the home. It is sweet and bold and fills the room.

Cinnamon is the little punch you need in all your baked goods during this time of year. I love using a pinch or two in all recipes and even on top of the whip cream in my hot cocoa or latte. That feeling of drinking a cup of hot cocoa topped with whip cream and cinnamon and as it gets close to your nose all of the holiday scents rush together… that is one of my favorites.

The smell of fresh apples reminds me of baking apple pies with my grandma and the smell of hot apple cider brewing on the stove.

And let’s just be honest, nothing evokes the joy of the holidays like sharing memories with family and close friends over a cup of delicious coffee.  During the Holidays, right after we all eat dessert, my mom always brings out a pot of coffee and we all continue to gather around the table and drink our coffee while talking about all of the wonderful moments that happened that day and all of the memories that we share. It’s perfect.

Right now, Dunkin’ Donuts has an entire line of Holiday Coffee that I’m dying to try like the Mocha Mint, Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread Cookie. I know these flavors and holiday aromas will bring back so many memories from my childhood and also make new memories with my little family!

Dunkin’ Donuts® packaged coffee is available at your local grocery store. The new seasonal varieties even have a cute gift tag on them so it’s easy to use them as stocking stuffers or hostess gifts!

Thank you to Dunkin’ Donuts® packaged coffee at grocery for being a sponsor. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.

You are so right, the fragrances of the holidays and winter can help to bring back those wonderful memories. I have so many from childhood when my Mother was always baking, cooking, and everything was from scratch. Her cookies, pies, and all the other delicious desserts she made along with the homemade dressing, homemade noodles and heavens so many wonderful things she made. She came from a family of excellent cooks but somehow that trait seemed to have missed me. I could care less about cooking at this point in life (72) I did cook and bake when all the kids (4) were still home but once they left I lost interest. My husband does almost all the cooking now and he’s very good at it, good thing or we’d starve. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, have a wonderful holiday weekend.
