Landroid Robotic Lawn Mower

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with WORX Tools. All opinions are 100% my own!

How long does it take you to mow your lawn? What if I could tell you that you would never have to do it again? Our property is 1.2 acres and with the exception of our house, literally everything else is just grass! During the spring and early summer we (who am I kidding, I’ve only mowed our grass ONE time) have to mow twice a week to keep up with the growth. It’s about a 2 hour task EACH time. When I found out that WORX Tools launched the Landroid Robotic Lawn Mower, my husband was completely on board!

This is one of those products that is an investment and I wanted to test it out for at least a few months before I shared it with you. Over the course of the last 4 months, we have installed 3 different Landroid Robotic Lawn Mowers around our property in different zones and I am officially ready to give them my full review!

Landroid Robotic Lawn Mower

The Landroid Robotic Lawn Mower does exactly what it sounds like, it literally mows your lawn for you! Just like a robotic vacuum does in your house. WORX actually has three different Landroid models that fit different lawn sizes. You can browse to see which one is the best fit for you.

We set up three different mowers around our yard, two in the front yard (1 on either side of our driveway) and currently 1 in our backyard. Those work PERFECTLY for that size of a space. We couldn’t be happier. I’ll dive into some more details below.

Our backyard is about .7 acres and 1 mower is definitely not ideal for how large our backyard is. We are currently getting another one to split our backyard into two different sections.

Installing Your Landroid Robotic Mower

You can see the video below that will show you how to set up the Landroid Lawn Mowers. They are actually extremely easy to set up. NO DIGGING required to set up the wires, which is amazing!

What you need:

  • Outdoor outlet to plug the base into (We had an additional one installed on the side of our house)
  • Flat surface for the base
  • Hammer
  • Wire Cutters
  • WORX Landroid App on your phone

And that is literally it!

Watch It in Action!

Set Up Your Personal System!

You will see in the video above that we installed the wire 4″ from the border of our grass. Within the instructions there are different measurements for different types of landscapes. For example, you install the wire 10″ from a wall or step and there are specific suggestions for corners. But you can find everything in the instruction manual. They have it pretty dialed in!

Once you download the Landroid App, you can set up your yard and all of your mowing preferences. We have our mowers set up on the automated system where it basically goes out daily to mow and then heads back to the charging station or it’s “HOME”. We keep our grass at a level 3 and our front yard has looked the exact same length since we set them up! They work perfect! Honestly, it’s the best feeling every to never have to mow your lawn, it never looks over grown and it has saved us so much time!

We added the Landroid Garage onto each of our base stations. Living in Seattle we get a lot of rain and snow in the winters, so we wanted to protect the Landroid as much as possible. They attach right to the base station and can easily lift up.

Avoiding Objects In Yard

WORX Tools has come up with a few different ways to help your Landroid avoid objects in the yard, like trees, trampolines, etc. 1) if it does run right into something, it does a pretty good job of backing out and removing itself from the area, 2) You can install the Anti-Collision System that attaches to the top of the Landroid and this helps them from running into things as it senses them.

You can check out all the different accessories they have here. Depending on your yard shape, they probably have something for you!

What are our overall thoughts?

We are impressed! I mean, we get to hang out, read a book and play with the kids while the Landroid does our yard work for us! These are investments for your home, but they are total time savers too. We are easily saving 4 hours a WEEK by not having to mow our entire lawn.

My husband did a ton of research and the WORX Landroid gets top ratings compared to others in the market. We are still figuring out the best system for our larger backyard, but the ones we have set up out front yard are perfect. I highly recommend them.

We have people drive through our neighborhood and stop to take videos of the mowers in action and ask us about them ALL the time.

My goal was to create a cozy yet elegant space where we can kickback and relax and also entertain. I wanted to keep the neutral tones and use the dark beams as a starting point for the design. Adding comfortable furniture but also a statement chandelier and vintage inspired accents.
