How To Paint A Garage Floor

DISCLOSURE: I was one of the bloggers selected by True Value to work on the DIY Squad. I have been compensated for my time commitment to the program as well as writing about my how to paint a garage floor experience.

Do you ever have projects that you have always wanted to try? You know the ones that get pushed back to the end of the list because higher priority ones take over that NEED to be done? Well, I finally checked one of those projects off my list!

How To Paint A Garage Floor – Rust-Oleum Garage Floor Kit

For some reason, I have always wanted to paint a garage floor. I love how they look and it sounded like a fun project. My grandpa built my parent’s home in 1979, and I thought it was about time that THEIR garage floor got a fresh new look! I picked up a Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Resin Garage Floor Kit (I actually bought two, see post for details) and in just 5 hours my dad and I transformed their garage. This is an easy project that anyone can do and makes a HUGE difference.

The Rust-Oleum Epoxyshield Resin Garage Floor Kit includes everything you need for the process except for the items mentioned above. It says one kit covers 250 square feet but we ended up running out of paint right at the end and needed to open another kit just for the paint. The kit comes in several different colors and since we chose the lighter color we had to apply a thicker layer for complete coverage.

Today, I’m sharing my tips on How to Paint A Garage Floor over on the True Value Projects Site.  Also, check out my some of my other posts like,  how to install a stone patio and how to install white wood plank walls.

LOVE it! If the builder had not delayed us getting in – we had planned on doing this to our garage before we moved. Maybe one day we will move everything out & do it. It makes such a difference!

Staircase reveal part one! SWIPE for the before an Staircase reveal part one! SWIPE for the before and to see all the details. This has been a major project over the course of the last 7 months, and it has been so exciting to see it all come together. My goal was to create an elegant and timeless look to our staircases, adding character with unique features of the railings, classic neutral runners with gold stair rods to complete the look and a moment for the large luxe chandelier that you can see from the courtyard. And of course a fresh look with smooth creamy walls.

But I’m not entirely done just yet! Part 2 will be coming in 2026!
