Hi there! I’m Allison and I blog over at The Golden Sycamore where I share lots of furniture makeovers, home decor ideas, and DIY projects. Before I get started, I wanted to say thank you to Taryn for letting me share a little something with her readers today! Give that cute little baby an extra hug for me, okay Taryn?!
. . .
Who’s ready for fall? I certainly am! It was 93 degrees here today and I am just so over summer! Thankfully the cooler weather is coming starting tomorrow!
I’m kind of obsessed with fall! I hate being hot, so the cool weather is probably my favorite part. Plus all those gorgeous fall colors! Swoon! I just can’t get enough of them!
I’m not really into fake decorations, but since I decided to get into the fall spirit a little early this year, I had to “supplement” my decor! :)
That’s okay, right? Supplementing with a little faux-ness here and there?
I did my best to find pieces that were as real looking as possible. All the leaves, gourds, and acorns came from Hobby Lobby. I’m actually really impressed with how real they look! And since I have only one non-evergreen tree in my yard and it just happens to have purple leaves, I guess any amount of time still wouldn’t produce the real thing for me! ;)
Maybe in a couple weeks I’ll make a trip to the farmers market and replace the fake gourds with real ones!
Fall is so full of warmth (in colors, not weather!) and texture, too! I love working the pretty colors of the leaves and gourds and fun textures from things like burlap, lace, baskets, and especially blankets into my fall decor.
It just makes me feel all warm and cuddly inside! :)
Have you started decorating for fall yet? If not, I hope my little display has inspired you to get started! And here’s to hoping the weather cools down soon!
To keep up with my latest projects and to see my other, not-so-traditional fall decor, you can check out my blog here or follow me on Facebook here.
. . .
Thanks again, Taryn, for having me over today! Enjoy your time with your family!

Love your fall decos and yeah it’s ok to have some faux-ness hanging out.
Everything you’ve done so far looks great, very cozy. I’m a Fall person too, cooler weather, wearing boots, colors. We lived in Mt and KY before western CO. I’d go back to MT in a heart beat. We’ve lived a few places, even San Diego, Tucson, but MT for me is the best. Love all 4 seasons but Fall is best.
Great you’re helping Taryn out with her new adorable baby boy.
We lived in Western Ky outside Bowling Green. I really miss as it’s a mecca of 2nd. hand stores and antiques, etc. We used to go south of B.G. to a store that had such incredible things to buy, every year they had gourds, pumpkins at affordable prices. Better shut up. Happy week
