DIY Pumpkin Crate With The Hankful House

Thanks For Sharing!

Hello there Design, Dinning and Diapers Readers!   My name is Mandy Hank and I have a little ole’ blog called The Hankful House.   I am so excited to be here today, I am an avid blog stalker of Design, Dinning and Diapers!  Shhhh, don’t tell Taryn!

My blog has a mixture of crafts, recipes, furniture re-dos, busy mom tips and a supply of projects that keep our house fun, messy and crazy.

If you asked me any day what my favorite holiday is… hands down Christmas.  But for some reason this year I am really getting excited about Halloween.  Maybe because living in Phoenix we never seem to cool off, and the thought of Halloween makes me realize I can almost where a scarf without sweating.

Whatever the reason, I wanted to share with you my Pumpkin Patch Box I redid from a TJ Maxx clearance item!

Here is what the box looked like before.  It wasn’t bad, just really wasn’t awesome.

I turned it over and saw the price and knew I had to snatch it up.  I had no idea what to do with it but knew an idea when come!  $2.50!!!  That is cheaper than a Starbucks Latte!

I painted the box with a great pumpkin orange color.  I used my good old fashion stencils for some lettering on the box.  Why is it you are always missing one letter?  Luckily I was able to turn the “J” into a “U”.  Another reason I need to just purchase a Silhouette.

The stencils did their job.

But decided the box needed a little “something” on ends.

A fun polka dot ribbon to finish off the project. um yes please!

And here we are, all finished and ready to hold the pumpkins for the holiday season.  I am so excited to put this on the porch and decorate for Halloween!!

Thank you so much for letting me stop by today.  My kiddos are super excited to go to the actual pumpkin patch and bring home more pumpkins to stuff in this box.

Come on over to the blog if you have some time and check out some other things I have been up to lately.

Great project, love the orange box and all the cute little orange baby pumpkins. I’d love to buy some of those pumpkins to put in a little box I have. Been trying to decide what color to paint it.
We used to live in Tucson so know what you mean about the heat.. When I was lots younger it actually used to snow and get pretty cold in Tucson but that hasn’t happened there in years. All the global warming I guess. The last time I was there (2008) was in April for my 50th. high school reunion, was warm enuf then for me after living in western CO. April is usually still pretty cool in CO.
