Affordable Arched Cabinet

It’s been a minute since I shared any updates on our formal living room! Aside from Christmas, this space sits pretty dormant most of the time. It’s a room I have big plans for down the road, but it isn’t a huge priority right now, hence the lack of updates. It’s been one of those rooms where I slowly add something here and there that I move from another space but I’ll be honestly the bareness has definitely been getting to me. I kept seeing this affordable arched cabinet going around on social media and I thought, you know what, I’m going to give it a go and see what the hype is about. Plus, I have been wanting a cabinet in this corner since we moved in!

I’ve also made a few other small changes in here, like a brand new cozy rug, DIY thrifted side table makeover and some new artwork. Can you spot the changes?

Affordable Arched Cabinet

Let’s start out with what you want to know. Is it worth the price? 100 %. This Black Arched Cabinet is only 1/4 of the price of most of the ones I was looking at and I am honestly shocked how good it is! It took me about 2-3 hours to assemble by myself, the doors were a bit tricky to get level but it all worked out in the end!

I didn’t love the hardware that came with the cabinet, so I did update it to these gorgeous honey bronze cabinet pulls that have such a classic look. For those who want to swap out the hardware, I went with size 8 13/15 ” and they were perfect.

Affordable Shelf Styling Accessories

I love the art of shelf styling. I treat it like a creative exercise, it’s kind of like solving a puzzle. Finding the perfect balance of color tones, materials and sizes. I have seen a lot of beautiful neutral accessories at Walmart, so I decided to see if I could also style this piece using things from there. I picked up a few new accessories that were all under $50 each (most under $20) and I added in a few items I already had in storage.

And I know you are all going to ask where I got that amazing black and white artwork on the top shelf (insert sarcasm). I actually found it in a stack of old prints that I did in art class in high school. It’s my very own framed vintage art :)

Neutral Living Room Tour

I really love how the dark cabinet grounds this space. It really needed something in this corner and I think the black pulls together the black wall sconces and the new black lamp in here!

Even though I have BIG plans for this space down the road where I’ll be redesigning it from the ground up, I am really loving the subtle changes in here to help make it feel more complete and cozy. Now I just need to work on the other side of the room!

I would still like to find a larger mirror or artwork for above the fireplace. I’ve always felt like what’s on there is a little too small. But it will work for now. Baby steps in here!

I’m now realizing I didn’t get a great shot of the new rug in here! I picked up this grey loop rug and I think it brings a really nice contrast to the space and also warms it up. I also like how it pulls that tone in from the wallpaper on the ceiling.

Also, this gold accent table will forever be one of my favs! It’s a simple, subtle touch that adds a stylish edge without overwhelming the space.

I’ve added black and gold arched mirrors to the mantle and introduced a simple black lamp and stylish faux leather ottomans. These elements keep the space elegant and cohesive, while the soft neutral tones create a calming and stylish atmosphere.
