Is anyone else experiencing a heat wave where they live? This has to be the hottest spring/summer on record in the Seattle area. Yesterday was 95 degrees and all I can think about is how thankful I am that we put AC in this house! Besides staying cool inside, there is nothing better than a refreshing summer drink on a hot day.
Today, I’m sharing two delicious Summer Drink Recipes made with Sandra Lee’s Cocktail Time™ Margarita Mixes. I may have to wait 2 more months before I can partake in these delicious drinks (come on baby, hurry up!) but that doesn’t mean I can’t serve them to friends!
One thing I love about these mixes is that they are both gluten free! I usually stick to wine because I know that is safe for me to drink, but knowing these are 100% safe makes me want them that much more! Both the Key Lime and Strawberry mixes are made with real key limes and strawberries, pure cane sugar, premium blue agave silver tequila, triple sec liqueur and other natural flavors.
This weekend I whipped up two of the recipes I found on the Cocktail Time site and they were a hit. And of course I made a ‘virgin’ version so I could do a little taste testing. My husband loved this Minty Mojito, the brown sugar really adds the perfect sweetness to the lime and mint. It was really easy to throw together and everyone will love it.
*Makes 1 drink:
– 2 teaspoons brown sugar
– 4 lime wedges
– 8 mint leaves
– ½ cup Sandra Lee Cocktail Time Key Lime Margarita and ice
– top with ¼ cup lemon-lime soda

I’m a sucker for blended drinks. That is always my go-to in the summer. These Berry Blizzard Coladas are the perfect way to cool down, especially if you like smoothies or coladas. I think the colors of this drink combined with the pretty metallic glasses would also be great for a holiday party!
*Makes 4 Drinks
-Fill blender with ice
-Add 1 cup frozen raspberries
-2 cups Sandra Lee Cocktail Time™ Strawberry Margarita
-¼ cup Cîroc® Red Berry Infused Vodka
-½ cup cranberry juice cocktailblend until slushy
-Rub lime on 4 chilled glasses, dip in decorating sugar, and pour cocktail into glasses
– Garnish with fruit

I wanted to add my own personal touch to the glasses, so I gave them a little makeover using glass paint.
1) Tape off the glass using ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape 2) Give them 2-3 coats of multi-surface paint (I use Martha Stewart Paint suitable for glass) 3) remove the tape
I highly recommend both these recipes! Hope you are staying cool this summer :)
Those glasses look amazing and so do the drinks!
Those galsses are beautiful, great craft idea!!
They all look so cool and delicious! It’s crazy hot here too!
LOVE the glasses and the drinks look good too! Refreshing . . . :D
Ooo, those look delicious. We’re in SoCal so it’s always hot during the summer and I could totally go for one of these :-)
