Today, I’m sharing a quick project for the Holidays, New Years, Winter and even year round! Last year, I stumble upon a big branch that had fallen down in the woods behind our neighborhood and I somehow convinced my husband to carry the 8′ branch all the way home for me. He’s the best! And now I am finally sharing one of my first projects, Paint Dipped Log Candle Holders.
I’ve seen several log candle holders floating around but I wanted to give them a trendy twist and paint dip them. They are so simple and inexpensive to make and add a little rustic glam charm to your holiday decor.
Supplies:
– 3 logs
– Gold Metallic Spray Paint, Silver Metallic Spray Paint, White Spray Paint
– Blue Painter’s Paint
Start but cutting the logs into 4″, 5″ and 7″ pieces.
Before you decide which end to spray paint, stand each log up on each side to see which side is more level. Then, tape the logs using Blue Painter’s Tape and leaving 2 1/2″ bare.
Spray paint with colors of your choice.
Then, using a 1 1/2″ Flat Drill Bit, drill out a circle for the candle to fit in.
What colors would you use for your home?

I love these Taryn, I really need to do something like this with the tree that was blown over by last years storm. Thanks for hosting and thanks for your sweet comment

I knew I should have asked the neighbor if I could have some of his branches he cut off his trees few months ago. A pile sat for ages then finally they were gone, darn it. Maybe next year.
Love different twist you gave your logs, instead of row of holes for candles on one log. Dipping them is great and gives wonderful look with the colors. This project I’ll have to save for next year. Think I’m at end of my creative rope, tonight.
I’ve been hot gluing white spray painted pine cones onto a white painted square wood wreath form. Had to turn glue gun off to take a breather before I threw the glue gun. I kept laying it down onto pile of glue sticks, duh. Think it’s time to hang up my glue gun for time being anyway. Do ya think?
Where are you putting the log candle holders? I can only imagine how pretty your home must be with all your wonderful decorations. Baby’s 1st. Christmas, how fun. Does big sister still love being a big sister?
Hope your family has a wonderful special Christmas.
