Last weekend I had the most amazing opportunity to attend SNAP! Creativity At Your Fingertips conference in Lehi, Utah. If you aren’t familiar with the conference, it’s a time for DIY/Craft Bloggers to get together, network, take classes, eat, craft, and have a great time. Its only in its 2nd year and I was blown away by the quality of classes, speakers, and sponsors. There were so many incredible brands there like Lowes, 3M, Duct Tape, Ryobi, Bosch, World Market, Minwax, Cricut, DecoArt, Homes.com and so many more.
This was my first time attending a blogging conference and before I left for my trip I wrote down my three top goals 1) to meet some of my blogging BFF’s and get to know new blogs 2) learn how to grow my blog and 3) network with brands. While I was on the plane yesterday I had time to reflect about my experience and read over my notes and I have to say the conference completely blew any expectations. It was very well planned and put together and I will definitely go back next year!
I wish I could fit every detail in this post, but instead, here is a quick peek at my trip through Instagram.
Getting to know some of my favorite bloggers was by far my favorite part of the trip. I connect with many of these ladies on a daily/weekly basis and they are awesome, so meeting them in person was just the icing on the cake! Check them out. From top left: Desiree from The 36th Avenue, Allison from House of Hepworths, Chelsea from Two Twenty One, Erin from How to Nest for Less, Jen from My Fabuless Life, Jaime from Crafty Scrappy Happy, Jenn from Clean & Scentsible, Kelli and Kristi from Lolly Jane.
I consider Jaime one of my blogging BFF’s and she is probably one of the sweetest people you will EVER meet. Seriously this girl has a heart of gold. I was so honored to room with her during the conference (along with Jenn from Clean & Scentsible) and I know I have a friend for life.
It seemed like everywhere you turned there were other pregos, so I felt right at home. I like to think we are just preparing our little ones for the life of being a DIYer. (Jaime from Crafty Scappy Happy and Meredith from Wait Til Your Father Gets Home)
And what is better than hanging out with girlfriends than hanging out and eating delicious food? Our first dinner was sponsored by Lowes and we learned all about organic gardening. We even received little bags filled with seeds (not to be mistaken for chocolate truffles) and the tables had gorgeous flower centerpieces. We also received a custom Choose Joy necklace from The R House Couture Etsy shop. You have to visit them, they have beautiful pieces.
And while we are on the topic of food, guess what?! SNAP offered gluten-free meal options which pretty much made my trip! I’m always afraid I’m going to starve when I attend events and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were really accommodating to those with food allergies. Go SNAP!
I’ve talked a lot about the people so far, but I have to say the classes offered at SNAP rocked this world. I learned so much about Pinterest, SEO, Monetization and lots of other techie stuff, but one of my favorite classes was the Power Tools classes put on by the amazing Ana White and Ryobi Tools. Meeting Ana was like a dream come true. The class was a blast and I even won a new power drill! Eeek!
And since this was my first blogging event, I got my act together and finally ordered business cards. I feel so official now :)
