Disclosure: I was chosen to be a Michaels Maker for Michaels Stores. All opinions are 100% my own.
I know it may seem a little early to be talking about Mother’s Day, but in reality we should be celebrating our mom’s every day, right?! :)
For this month’s Michaels Maker Challenge, we were asked to come up with a project inspired by our moms or a gift idea for Mother’s Day. Today, I’m sharing a Personalized Towel Crate using the kid’s birthdays. It creates an industrial farmhouse look but with meaning!
These were very simple to put together. I picked up this mall crate from Michaels. It’s $19.99 but it’s often 50% off or you can use a coupon.
Then, I create vinyl stencils of my kids’ birthdays using my Silhouette machine.
I added a very light coat of white paint. I wanted a rustic look so I didn’t completely cover the wood. This is also a part where the kids can help with the project.
Peel off the vinyl and you have a cute personalized towel crate for the bathroom! I thought this was a fun way to bring meaning into the home.
Michaels has everything you need to craft the perfect handmade gift that will make Mom’s day.
If you don’t know where to begin, you can always take a look at some of the fun projects on Michaels.com or the other 49 Makers’ ideas on The Glue String for to see how they personalized their crafts!
