I can’t believe it’s already been a few months since I revealed our daughter’s big girl room with you all! It is definitely a dreamy room (even I’m jealous!) but one thing was lacking. Her closet. Every girl needs a big walk-in closet, right? This girl totally lucked out and not only did she get the biggest room but she got the biggest closet of the kids’ rooms. I think is pretty appropriate :)
The only problem was that her closet had turned into a complete disaster. The space wasn’t being used to its full potential and it had turned into a mini playroom. It was time for a complete makeover and some major organization!
My daughter begged me to paint the walls in her bedroom pink, but I just couldn’t do that. It was way too much for me. SO, we compromised and I let her paint the walls in her closet pink! She was SO excited about this project and loves how it turned out. Such a fun girly space.
Aside from the very pink walls, one of the biggest issues in the space was organization. I found these adorable apple baskets and thought they were the perfect solution for all those random items that find themselves in the closet. I hand stamped labels for them and they have been perfect!
Since most closet walls are bare, I added a cork board so she can display special pictures and artwork.
I also displayed her first pair of ballet slippers. So sweet.
I am totally jealous with how organized her closet is. Next up is mommy and daddy’s closet!
Here is a look at how the closet looked before. Womp womp. Most girls would do anything for a closet this big and it looked like one big disaster all the time. It turned into the mini play room in her room and quickly became one big mess. It desperately needed some organization.
This was a great weekend project that I LOVED doing. My husband and I are big on organization and this was a well needed project. I started with clearing out the entire space. So much better already!
The supplies were simple, paint tray, paint brush, small roller, ScotchBlue PLATINUM Painter’s Tape, micro fiber cloth and of course your paint of choice. You may also need a power drill if you need to remove any fixtures on the wall. Clean surface where tape will be adhered. I like using microfiber cloths that you find in the automotive section. These are great for picking up dust!
Tape all molding and door jams. The ScotchBlue PLATINUM Painter’s Tape is perfect for taping over molding and tight corners where the molding meets a door.
The perfectly straight tear line makes it easy to create a 90-degree angle and straight edges in those hard to reach places.
Time to paint! Start by painting around the trim with a paintbrush. Finish painting the rest of the room with a small roller brush. Two coats usually do the trick!
Time to remove the tape and reveal your room! Pull the tape back on itself and remove at a 45-degree angle away from the wall. ScotchBlue PLATINUM Painter’s Tape can easily be removed in one big pull. What a great time saver!
Ahh feels so good to have a space freshly painted and organized! For more fun painting projects, check out the Inspiration Hub!

This is beautiful, I love all the femenine touches. I did 2 shelves and hanging rods for my girl’s as well, it adds so much extra space to a closet, great idea.
