Light Up Twig Trees

Thanks For Sharing!

Disclosure: This post is brought to you by FloraCraft® Make It: Fun® Foam.

I still can’t get over how quickly Christmas is approaching this year! Seriously, in two weeks it will be over, isn’t that crazy to think about? Well, since it takes me so long to decorate for the Holidays, this year I decided to create seasonal decor that will work for both Christmas and Winter. Two for one kind of deal.

Anyway, my friends over at FloraCraft® recently sent me a fun box of StyrofoamTM Supplies and a ‘mystery’ craft ingredient and asked me to make a fun Holiday craft. After a lot of brainstorming, I came up with these Light Up Twig Trees! Yup, perfect for both Christmas and  winter :)

Supplies:

– 2 3/4″ StyrofoamTM Cubes

– The Design It:® Light Branch

– 15″ X 15″ piece of Drop Cloth and Small Strip for Tie

– Handful of Twigs Painted White

– String

– Paper Snowflakes

Gently place the The Design It:® Light Branch into the center of the Styrofoam, pushing it about 1″ into the cube.

Then, take your spray painted branches and push them into the StyrofoamTM Cubes , arranging them so they appear to be as natural as possible.  Place the cube in the center of your drop cloth and then fold up the edges.

TWIG TREES 4

Tie up the edges with a strip of drop cloth and tie a knot.

I wanted to give them a little winter flair and decided to add little modern snowflakes to the branches. I used my Silhouette to cut the snowflakes using chip board and then attached them with string.

Whimsical winter trees for both Christmas and Winter and the lights add such a romantic touch :)
